What's on your Menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Happy Wednesday! I get to have another continuous glucose monitor implanted today, which is really crappy timing since this is the holiday weekend, but oh well. I just got my carbs under control (relatively speaking) and now I have to overcarb on purpose (to me overcarbing is adding another 20-30g which still leaves me under 100 and it's just for a week). I'm ok with it, particularly if I can get everything under control, but man I could sure use a break (I know I must sound like a broken record and I appreciate you all indulging me). I was on plan yesterday (i edited my original post to eliminate "good." I'm trying to stop assigning "good" and "bad" when it comes to food and eating****il right before bed time when an extra .5 oz of peanuts made its way to my mouth. No damage done, but that's got to stop. You know you have too many "snacky" foods when even the guy at Trader Joes comments about a "snack run." Ugh. As for the holiday weekend, it really isn't one according to my office. We have the 4th off, but not the 3rd. Since the 4th is a Tuesday, it makes for a really weird work week. I scheduled a meeting with one of my surgeon experts for the 3rd at 10:00 am and think I may "work from home" after that and start my holiday early.
DQOTD: No favorite towel here. I have a matched set hanging in my bathroom, and just grab whatever is closest to the shower on that particular day.
My plan:
B: 2.82 oz ham, string cheese, mustard
L: Smoked turkey breast (from yesterday) and a bit of cabbage salad
D: Tri Tip
S: Iced skinny latte after my Dr. Appt., yogurt and if I make it out for a run, almonds after.
Haven't entered into MFP, but if I remember, I'll come back and edit to add totals.
Best of luck to you with your testing.

Thanks! I'm not holding my breath. I need to try and induce an RH episode, since she wants to see if it's really caused by low blood sugar or dumping syndrome, since the treatment will differ. I've never triggered RH on purpose and don't even know how to go about doing it . . . how do i trigger RH without dumping? I'm trying to remember what I ate the last time I had RH and will try to do it again. My luck, I'll go the whole week and won't have one episode, but will both dump AND have RH the day they remove the monitor! LOL!!
If I eat savory carb stuff like rice or bread or potatoes-I don't dump, but I do get RH a couple of hours later. Too much actual sugar=Dump City for me but no RH later on.
The promise of dumping or RH keeps me on plan now. I'm afraid to have anything other than meat, cheese, yogurt, a few nuts, or low carb veggies. I do, however, have a small amount of Lily's chocolate a few times a week.

I"m walking a fine line with this one. They want to see if my RH is due to low BS or if it is truly dumping syndrome. So, I need to figure out something to eat that won't make me dump, but will trigger RH. I guess if it does both, it's a bonus!!
I tend to eat pretty clean at this point because I hate RH more than dumping, but every so often I stray and pay the consequences.
Good luck on the testing and that is funny about the Trader Joe 'snack run' comment. I could get one of those .. I relate

Good morning menu crew and Daisy. So glad you are feeling better.
Today I have a handy dude coming over to assemble a potting bench I bought that showed up in a box in about a million pieces. "Some assembly required" are my most feared words in the English language. I also have a class on salt tonight. Sounds weird, but I am a cooking nerd and am really looking forward to it.
i am cobbling together my menu because I am spending a week in central Oregon starting on Saturday, so am clearing out the fridge. I plan on laying by the pool like a lizard on a rock all week.
Accountability: I ate my menu yesterday, ecxcept for my last snack. Decided I didn't need/want it. I weighed 139 this morning.
QOTD: I don't have one particular towel I like, but I love the ones I have. They are waffle weave, and are super absorbent and dry quicky ( none of that musty towel odor). Problem is, they are really hard to find in the US.
2-1/2 years post op:
B: Egg Beaters, bacon and mozzarella omelette
S: chicken jalapeño sausage, protein water
L: portobello pizza
S: salami and brie, protein water
D: 4 oz chicken thigh
Totals: calories 809, carbs 20, protein 92
E: None. Last week of exercise restriction. Hallelujah! I am going crazy.
Have a great day everyone!
