What's on your Menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
on 6/28/17 3:24 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Hello Menu Crew! How is everyone? I am feeling better today, not 100% but better. For those of you who asked how my dog Amy is she is better. The PPI seems to be working, fingers crossed this solves it. Thank you!
So long weekend everyone! Here in Canada we have July 1st as our stat, its Canada's 150 birthday and its so great to see everyone on my street and in my town has Canadian Flags all over their lawns/flowerbeds and houses. I get Monday off as a holiday so looking forward to a three day long weekend! I know July 4th is your holiday, do you get time off? Got big plans?
Accountability: did not eat a single thing off plan yesterday, WIN! I also had a mini revelation. I was busy all day at work, got home and changed and went right to the gym, was there to 7:45pm, came home had a decaf and then turkey & cheese and was tired and went to bed. Point is I was busy in the evening. That is my snacky time, when I am looking for something. The more busy, the less snacking. Its not rocket science but how do I keep myself out of the fridge/cupboards in the evenings when I am not busy? Million dollar question!
QOTD: Do you have a fav bath towel that you love to use? I do. Considering its only me & my husband we have a lot of towels. But we have this one really thick chocolate brown big towel its my fav and I try to get to it before hubby because he loves it too LOL

My son is a competitive swimmer. I own scary towels and good ones can go bad quick.
Happy Canada day! Is there a specific food for the holiday?
Today/yestetday I ate a salad, beef jerky, all cheese chips from Trader Joe's, a protein bar, and sous vide egg bites from Starbucks. And coffee and a bite of brie.
Good morning menu folks! The temperatures are rising again but I plan to head out for a walk this morning anyway.

Happy Wednesday menu folks.
Ive been trying to bring food to work and that really helps me stay on program. It's also much kinder on the wallet.
I've been toeing the line fairly well in terms of accountability lately. Yes keeping busy at night definitely helps. On most nights I'll take a long walk just to burn some extra cals and that's worked out great as it also keeps me away from the kitchen.
QOTD: I do have a regular towel that I favor but I also have a a 30+ year old beach towel that is affectionately known as "Big Red" He's kind of been out of the rotation for a long time but I just can't bear to let it go.
in another towel related story I was on vacation a few weeks back and I was very happy to find out that the hotel towels actually closed around my waist without me holding it. The bathrobe too. Those were two nice NSVs because as many of us know, hotel towels are not obese friendly at all.
I keep a large tub of low-fat cottage cheese in the office refrigerator, and a half dozen packs of tuna plus a giant container of protein powder at my desk. Currently the protein powder is Syntrax Nectar "Roadside Lemonade" which mixes very nicely with ice water, and also works mixed with my cottage cheese. It really does help my budget and it's helpful to always have a "good" option here at the office!
The hospital system where I work also keeps bowls of fruit on each floor but those are no longer great options for me. I do indulge in a banana after hard workout days, and yesterday I had half of an apple.

Good morning! I'm glad Amy and you are feeling better. Who knew dogs could get GERD!
My company is giving us the 3rd and 4th as holidays (yeah!) and I take Fridays off all summer. So I work one day (tomorrow) after being on vacation for 18 days, then have 5 days off. Great way to ease into work again (though I did spend about the equivalent of a day doing email, a small project, and calling into a few meetings while gone).
Accountability: Yesterday was our last day of vacation so I ate/drank what I wanted and am down a pound this morning! I don't trust the scale here though, so the truth will be in my own scale tomorrow morning.
QOTD: I always have my own bath towels and beach towels (I am a little OCD that way).
B: eggbeaters and cheese; English muffin and PB
L: At airport so maybe yogurt or maybe a protein bar
D: In flight, so probably a protein bar

Good morning :)
Daisy, I'm glad to hear Amy is feeling better. I hate when my furbabies are out of sorts. Just breaks my heart since I can't make them feel better.
Today we are getting our roof replaced (or at least started), I have a doctor's appointment, and then I'm back to trying to play soccer. I was out for two weeks because of a knee injury. A consequence of a lifetime of obesity.
Accountability: I went off the rails yesterday. There was a ton of fighting at my grandparent's house and I ended up eating a cookie. Then we went out for dinner and I ate a bunch of tortilla chips at the table. We came home and I had a cake pop, biscotti, and then peanut butter. Something is stressing me out -- I hope it's just the move because that will be done as of Friday.
QOTD: We have a towel manufacturing company here in town that makes really awesome towels. I always buy the "bath sheet" size because they are huge. I need to get a different colour now because they don't really match our new bathroom.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - peameal bacon
Lunch - turkey sausage
Snack - Greek yogurt
Dinner - beef roast
Snack - protein shake
All water and vits.
