You may think I am crazy but...
My hands and feet have been so ichy since I have had surgery. My hands especially I could scratch the skin of them they get so bad at times.
Has anyone hand this sort of reaction before? It may be completely unrelated but it is driving me insane.

I get this on occasion, but have you searched? (I don't mean this in a negative context). I just did and there are at least 10 threads on the topic, if not more. Looks like good content. Check it out. I just typed "itchy" in the search at the top of the page.

Every day our bodies shed an astonishing number of skin cells. About a million over 24 hours. With rapid weight loss that number increases and the body cannot always keep up. So you end up with a layer of dead skin cells. They are incredibly itchy. Putting lotions on does not help, it makes it worse.
You end up with the consistency of pie dough when you add oil to the dry cells.
The solution is to exfoliate. Use a dry brush, loofah, and or exfoliating cleaners. Avoid creams and lotions and only use them sparingly after thoroughly exfoliating. I had a bad buildup on my thighs.

Thanks White Dove, I read your post right after I put half a bottle of lotion on my body!!!! Screaming with insanity.
I am heading out in a minute to get exfoliating cleaners and a new loofa. Thankyou!!!

My hands itch like crazy if good I ate had any soy. I am allergic to soy.
If there is a lot of soy- first my hands would itch, then my head, then....I may even get hives. (Tofu)
The itching can be a sign you are allergic to something. Maybe something in your food drinks?
My friend I allergic to splenda - she discovered that after she had RNY

Finally, I went to a dermatologist and he gave me some cream....I lived on that prescription cream for about 3 weeks and then stopped needing it so often and now I have had no itching or need for the cream for about 6 months. It was Clobetasol Propionate, .05%....
