What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
Last day of the conference! Yesterday I ran into a woman I volunteered with in South Africa 15 years ago and had lunch with a friend I've known for 30 years who now lives on the west coast. Hillary Clinton is doing the closing speech at the conference later on this morning (YAY!! Can't wait to see her!!!), and then I'm meeting a friend from Istanbul later on this afternoon at the airport. We'll bus back to Wisconsin together. She'll be here all summer doing research- Yippeee!!!!
QOTD: my childhood summers sound just like yours, Daisy - at the pool every day - and when we weren't, we were riding our bikes! (and btw - I'm so sorry to hear you're still not feeling well - migraines and nausea, especially, are horrible!!)
I don't know what I'll be eating today because I'll be on the commuter train - then the airport for several hours, and then the bus, but here's what I know:
2 years out
B: yogurt, 1/2 C mixed fruit
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: ??
AS: maybe a protein bar or nuts or jerky
D: ??
Good morning All! Beautiful day here in Illinois and Lily and I have already done our 3.2 miles. We'Ll do another mile plus after dinner too. QOTD My favorite summer activity was spending time at the library. As an obese kid I was never physically active even in the summer. Last night I had a feeding frenzy before bed. I ate my planned snack and then kept going. I finally reined myself in by going to bed. Whatever works I guess. I had eaten supper earlier than usual and I think that it had been too long since I ate. The extra bites added up to a gain today with weight at 118.4. Up a bit but still under my top comfortable number of 120. I must do better today and if the urge to snack more is there just drink something instead. Post op 4 years 10 months. Here's the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese rollups with guacamole D 1 c ham and beans S P3 Pak. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal! Hope you get to feeling better really soon, Daisy!
Yeah, eating on schedule (or not) can make a difference can't it?

Sorry you're not feeling well. It was an interesting night last night in our house. First, DH told me that he stepped on something when he got out of bed yesterday. It was a dead mouse that our kitties had delivered as a "present." I really hate mice. I woke up last night - not sure if it was because I had to pee or because of the squeaking. Yep, kitties had another present for us - another not quite dead mouse. I shook DH and he took care of it. Less than 30 minutes later they had another one. The combined the wheat field beside our house on Sunday and when that happens we often have a mice problem for a few days - I'm hoping this is the last of it. I'm so afraid the kitties will bring the "present" up on the bed. If that happens I may just have a heart attack on the spot. Our one cat has a favorite toy mouse - there's actually not much left to it that he has to bring in to the bedroom every night before he settles in. I'm ok with toy mice, but not real ones.
Accountability: Last night was better, but I'm still struggling with the evening "hungries." I do fine all day long and then after dinner feel like I must eat. Last night it was a handful of almonds and 1T of PB. I had room for the calories but I know it's a slippery slope and I don't need it - it's in my head.
QOTD: We lived on a fruit farm that also had about 100 head of beef cattle. My Dad was the farm manager and it was a real treat for me when he would let me "help" him either feed the cattle or pick fruit. Also, since the cattle would be in the pasture, the barnyard (large cement pad) was empty and I would roller skate in there - it was interesting avoiding the dried up cow pies. Awe the joys of country living.
B: Protein coffee
L: 1 can tuna, 1 T light mayo, 1T SF relish, 1 C cantaloupe
S: 1/2 C Greek LnF yogurt, 1T PB2, 1/2 scoop protein powder
D: Not sure - have to get the car inspected after work so it will be something quick. Will do my best to make a wise choice.
E: 60+ minutes on the eliptical
