Gallbladder and Constipation
So, this is probably a lot of TMI, but I'm desperate! I have been experiencing increasingly worse constipation - now it's so bad laxatives aren't workthing. I have tried mirilax and benefiber, which no luck. When it gets really bad I have taken laxatives and/or milk of magnesia, and now even that is not really helping. I went and saw my doctor who gave me a prescription for Linzess, which is not helping. Anyone have a suggestion for something I haven't tried? And to make things even more fun, I found out I have an enlarged gallbladder that will likely need to come out, I have a HIDA scan next week. Also found kidney stones and a possible liver cyst...lucky me :)

I'm worth it!
I deal with that. Now I take EVERY DAY Miralax - 2-3 cupfuls first thing in the morning. If I skip a day - it may take me 2-3 days to catch. Some days -when I know I did not have complete BM- i may increase Miralax by a cupful.
Miralax works by preventing constipation. once you get constipate d- you may need to take it and wait. when than happens - i often avoid any solid foods - or food with fiber and just try to empty the bowels.
I would use enema, suppository, abdominal massage, exercise one end - and Miralax on the other...

Taking it every day what makes a difference.
you may be dealing with SIBO and IBS-C. google SIBO
for some people - taking to much fiber can be much worse than not enough.

You can probably file this under TMI as well but ever since I had my gallbladder removed I've been much better off in the poo department.
I had a stone. Or stones. Which in my case led to attacks but they dont always do. I also had sludge
But a sick gallbladder should definitely affect your digestion. Anything that slows the flow of bile could.
Me too, but sometimes i have to take two caps full of miralax to get things going

Don't take fiber when you are already constipated. It will just make it worse, not better.
I don't know if you should, with your gallbladder issues, but more fat in your diet will help with constipation.
