What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Good morning,

QOTD I would get corn dogs, french fries, cotton candy, caramel apple and and caramel corn
Accountability I stayed on track last night even though I wanted to eat more.
B spinach, yellow pepper, ham and cheese omelette and string cheese
L tuna and cottage cheese
D might go out to a fundraiser for my cousin tonight if not ham steak and bake beans
S Greek yogurt, turkey sausage snack sticks and an apple
Have a good day
Hi menu buddies!
The last few days have been a bit of a blur in remembering exactly which day it is. my schedule has just fallen into a routine of awake, sip, walk, rest, sip, walk, rest etc. Each day I feel a little bit better and I really like the pain med combination that they sent me home with....no narcotics, just gabapentin and otc tylenol!
I remember reading several times how people become foodies post WLS and I can now totally understand why....I'm sitting here in my liquid phase looking at bariatric friendly recipes for when I'm in purees etc. because I want the little I'm able to have to be absolutely delicious (thank you Shelly!). My hubby goes back to work tomorrow and it will be just me tracking everything - he's been helping me track via a spreadsheet, so today is for setting up different alarms on my phone and reminders to drink.
Accountability: No issues there, yesterday I got in 89g of protein, 6g of carbs, 1g of fat, and a whopping 89oz of fluid. I've been focusing on water, walking, and protein more than calories. Lose-it griped at me for only hitting around 450 yesterday. I think my doctor wants between 500-600 so I'll work on that today, but calorie counting isn't currently my focus and I think that's the right way to do it.
QOTD: I think my favorite fair food is a funnel cake or an elephant ear...they're different and yet the same! Funnel cakes usually have powdered sugar and elephant ears are a stretched out piece of dough that has cinnamon/sugar on it (typically) but I have seen some super fancy versions with all sorts of toppings. We also have something here at our state fair called the 'barbecue Sundae' which I thought sounded revolting at first because I immediately envisioned ice-cream being involved....but no, it's pulled pork, beans, and slaw layered like a parfait in a cup. super delicious and so not on my menu anymore
5 days post-op RNY
Menu
I'm all about the Syntrax Nectar powders right now because it's a great way to break up the monotony of chocolate/vanilla shakes over and over and over. Plus my tastebuds have gotten kinda sensitive to the sweetness of the Unjury shakes, they make me want to gag. It's been so hot here that I even made some protein popsicles out of it
Exercise: Already did a good 20 minutes of walking this morning while I was talking to my sister, and I will be getting outside today for a short walk around our neighborhood. I've been trying to walk anytime there's a commercial on tv and that's a good motivator to get up and moving for a few minutes.
Have a great day guys!
