Pouch feeling stuffed
Not sure what is going on. I have been eating the same quantity and same type food for quite a while and the last three days every time I eat I get this miserable stuffed pouch feeling (with the exception of venison jerky which I only eat 1 to 1.3 ounces at a at time).
Yesterday I even cut back the amount of tilapia and salmon that I ate for my meals. Tilapia from 4 oz. to 3 oz. , and salmon from 4 oz. to 3 1/2 oz. and I still felt stuffed. Today I cut back the salmon to 3 oz. but left the Tilapia at 3oz. I haven't eaten that yet so don't know how that will work out. I did eat my 4 oz. salmon burger and I am feeling stuffed. I didn't cut that down because when working nights I go 15 hours with out eating (with the exception of 1.2 oz. venison jerky at hour 13).
I am a little over 3 months out and I eat on average 650 - 675 calories in a day. Friday was 653, Saturday 677, and today 653.
Anyone else have something like this happen. Could this be happening because I am not eating slow enough? I don't feel like I am eating any faster but I guess I could be. I am working this weekend and I take 20 minute breaks and that is when and how I always eat at work.
I should also say that I have never had a sensation of getting full. I eat what I pack and then I stop eating. Even prior to surgery I never had the getting full feeling. I would get a stuffed feeling about 30 - 40 minutes after eating that let me know I shouldn't have eaten so much.
Should I just continue to make my portion sizes smaller and see if that helps with the stuffed feeling?
Thanks in advance
Tammy

There are a lot of things that can be causing this. Soe could be more serious. But based on what you described, this is pretty common, and not a big deal. It sounds like what most of us refer to as Big Pouch and Little Pouch days.
Some days we can eat more than others. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it. At times, I can eat only half as much as I usually can, of the same exact food.
Paying attention to how you are feeling is important, or you'll pay the price. Just be prepared to stop if you get full quicker than usual.

What grim said, and Could be just something you ate irritated your pouch and it's swollen. Also, constipation causes me to lose my appetite.

Just make sure you are still drinking your fluids on your small pouch days!
I'm about 3 months out and I have issues like that as well. Sometimes I think it's just one bad bite of food (too much/not enough chewing) and then I get backed up. That's usually when it becomes time to kneel before the porcelain altar.
App 3 months post op my nerves "got healed " and suddenly the quiet of foods that I was able to eat without discomfort - got much smaller.
A few bites of some dense proteins was all I could handle. It happened almost suddenly.
I would make the same amount of food as before - but I could only eat a few bites - no more than, 1/2 of what I had before.
It was very frustrating. At the same time - I discovered that some foods where no longer acceptable to my pouch. I had to revert to drinking protein shakes to get enough proteins.
Good luck...

What else are you eating with the 4 ounces of food? I find that I couldn't eat 4 ounces (especially dense protein) if I have other veggies or items? I now make a small salad and eat closer to 3 ounces. Except Salmon or other fish - I can only eat 2.5 ounces before restriction. If this lasts for any length of time, consider the volume of food in total and dial bac****il you are comfortable. I sometimes have to have a second shake to hit my protein goals when I eat Salmon.
Good luck

When I eat 4 oz of dense protein that is all I would eat. When I ate 4 oz of shrimp I eat 6 or 7 grape tomatoes and a mini cucumber.
I did 2.6 oz of salmon for late lunch and it seems to be sitting well. I feel full, but not stuffed and miserable. I have honestly never had that full feeling before. I always told friends and family that I did not have a full button. Now I have one...it's kind of amazing how that works.
I guess I will just eat less more often, or add a shake and / or a protein water to make my protein goals.
Thanks everyone for your input!!

Yeah, It's weird. I was really bummed one night. I had a beautiful piece of salmon and I was feeling stuffed after just a few bites (based on the card deck reference it was about 2 ounces). I couldn't take it home either as we were going to a show and wouldn't be home for many hours. Happens with me when I eat Salmon and thick steak. Ground up - no issue (like Tuna foil packs).
Glad things worked out.
