I finally joined the Losers Bench
Thursday was RNY surgery and I was released from the hospital Saturday afternoon and I am doing fantastic. I was so afraid that there would be extreme pain and complications but so far everything is just wonderful. I have not been upset at my stomach or had anything come back up, my incisions look great (7 of them), the pain is very tolerable. I am walking the hallways at the hotel room and have been drinking lots of fluids and proteins. Right now I am sipping on tomato soup. My blood sugars have started to come down, while in the hospital they reduced my long lasting insulin from 50 units to 25 units and my blood sugars were running between 170 and 200. Today my blood sugars have been running in the 120 to 130 range. I sure do hope that as time goes on I can get off insulin. God's hands have held me all the way through this and I am so grateful for all of your thoughts and prayers this past week. Now comes the hard part, trying to deal the "mind' and it's relationship to food as I am an emotional eater.
Today is a great day my friends, feeling thankful and blessed right now.

Yay, congratulations! I had my RNY the day before yours so we're essentially in the same spot and so far so good here as well. Keep it up!

Congratulation!!!
Fyi - tomato soup has a lot of sugar ,- natural and often also added. Even at 9 years post op - it is still on my "don't eat-drink list". That thing can spike me BS very fast.
