forgot the QOTD:

the only things I can really say I miss are ice cream, fish fries, and pasta (not pasta per se - it's pretty tasteless. But it's a vehicle for a lot of foods I miss, like spaghetti). I've had maybe 1/2 C of ice cream in total since my surgery two years ago (a tablespoon or two at a pop). I haven't had any fish fries or pasta. It's not so much I'm afraid it's a slippery slope - it's because I'm afraid I'll get sick, and I also know I'll eat too much and go way over my calories...

Good morning Daisy and menu peeps. Sorry you're still not feeling well, and hope you get some answers about the pup. It is the worst when our furry babies are not feeling well.

We in the Northwest are joining the rest of you in this heat wave. It will be near 100 degrees on Sunday, which is the day I have tickets to see Roger Waters. Should be interesting.

Accountability: Yesterday I ate what was on my menu, with a couple of changes. I replaced my ham snack with Kelly's egg salad with cottage cheese (super yummy! Thanks Kelly), and I added a 100 cal bag of popcorn in the evening. I probably could have done without that, for sure.

I have never been a "sweets" girl. I like them just fine, but can take or leave them. They have never been a trigger. Now pizza is a different story. Totally a trigger for me. I try to stay far away from that, or I am a goner.

2-1/2 years post op:

B: egg beaters, bacon and mozzarella omelette

S: egg salad with cottage cheese (yum!), protein water

L: turkey meatballs

S: jalapeño chicken sausage link, protein water

D: curry chicken thigh

Totals: Calories 878, carbs 24, protein 111

Have a great day everyone and stay cool!

Good morning!

daisy, I hope you and your dog feel better soon!

QOTD: Pretty much everything has been a problem food for me. Carbs have been especially tough for me lately and even more so now because of a lack of planning on my part but I'm really working on getting back on track. I've been pushing the limits for far too long so it's back to measuring and weighing foods AND taking my time to eat them.

B: shake

L: shake

S: almond butter (just enough to keep me energized throughout the day

D: chicken breast with a small salad

E: hopefully I can get out with Zach and our dogs tonight for a walk if I get home from work soon enough. Also going to do my physical therapy exercises tonight. My knees and hips have been really weak for some reason so I've not been doing my usual jogging but as soon as I can I'm going to get back on track with that also.

V: patches on

have a great day, everyone! I've been dealing with depression and stess big time lately but I'm determined to make today a good one.

Do not let one bad day turn into a bad week :)

Hello Daisy and menu friends!

Daisy, I'm sorry you're still suffering from your headache :( I have lots of experience with dog stomach issues, if you haven't already you may want to try a 48 hour fast for the dog. Jus****er (and maybe even withhold that for a few hours this afternoon to encourage a re-set in the gut). The total fast will help clear out bad gut issues AND it will calm down the the pancreas if the dog has had too much fatty food due to treat overload or getting into something like the garbage. After the fast start back with plain rice with a little broth for the first eight hours, then some ground meat and rice for the next day, then slowly mix in kibble. This has resolved 95% of our dogs stomach issues, and we learned this method from a family friend who is a small animal vet.

Accountability: Instead of having a few shrimp for dinner, I had a few shrimp and a salmon patty which upped my total calories for the day to 750. My other numbers were OK but that's two high calorie days in a row :( I did go for a run with my sister's dog (in town for the day). We got lost and I dropped to a walk as we navigated through some sketchy trails and a power right-a-way, but I started running again when we were back on a paved trail and made up the distance I'd walked, plus a quarter of a mile.

QOTD: I miss fruit and I tend to eat too much when I allow myself a bite. Monday I ate an apple without even really realizing what I was doing. I think I just haven't built in the "alarm" for foods that used to be GOOD choices! Today I got my CSA box of produce delivered to my cubical and I ate the entire half pint of black raspberries. (worth it).

12 Wks Post RNY/174lbs./Weight-loss Stage

B- 1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese plus 1 scoop chocolate protein powder

MS- half pint of black raspberries (18g carbs)

L- innards of half of a black and blue wrap

AS- 1/2 scoop lemon protein powder

D- Zucchini noodle pad thai with chicken

ES- 1/2 oz. peanuts (in D pad thai)

Total Calories 780, Protein 103, Carbs 46, Sugar 13, Fat 25

I'm down in my activity this week - I was sick Sunday/Monday/ Tuesday and now I need to literally step it up to get back on track. I'm thinking of going to a running trail on Friday afternoon that is mostly up a very moderate hill, I'll run my mile on the uphill part then walk back downhill to the car. Unless I'm feeling stronger than I anticipate, then I'll walk back on the hiking trail and get another couple of miles in as well as two 1000 foot climbs. I've also been using my under desk elliptical machine so while that doesn't count for anything on my activity tracker at least I know I'm getting a few extra hours of activity in!

Hello everyone,

Daisy, Sorry you and Amy are still not feeling well!

I'm soooooo late to the party again! Work is still crazy!

Accountability: I stayed on plan yesterday. I'v lost all but 1 lb of the weight gain I had from eating the fresh clams. I love them but they make me retain so much water every time I eat them. It's my fault as well cause I tend to drink the liqueur (their natural juice as well which is super salty but oh sooo good! As long as you don't drink the sand at the bottom of the bowl! LOL!

Menu is the same as yesterday.

B: 2 eggs, turkey breakfast sausage, 1/2 slice cheese

L: 3oz turkey breast

S: 1 1/2 oz turkey breast, 1/2oz proscuitto di parma

D: 1oz london broil, 1oz keibasa, 1/2 chicken breast, 1/4C sauteed onions & peppers

S: ostrim meat stick

Cals:686, Carbs:10, protein:95

Enjoy the rest of your night everybody!
