Morning RNYers! I'm rating a civil service exam today so not my usual work day. I'm hoping we'll gone done early so I can go to the farmers market and picks something up for dinner.

Accountability: this is HARD! Believe it when you read it. I'm up 7# since Monday. My choices Saturday & Monday weren't the best- but weren't 7# worth of bad. None the less I still see where I can tighten things up- and more importantly I see where they tiny amount of wiggle room I once had is gone. I'm even exercising more-- this will not beat me!

qotd: the 'food' I need to avoid is actually sweetened beverages. I could easily drink my weight x10 in juices/juice drinks/soda etc. I haven't had a regular sweetened beverage in over 3 years now. I just can't- not even diet soda. Cookies/cakes are my #2 slippery slope. I can at least exercise a little control with a cake or cookie- but I just can't with juice.

199 today; 25 months

m1: 2 eggs, 2oz ham

m2: Greek yogurt, berries

m3: protein shake

m4:? Maybe fish

Hello Everyone!

Daisy I'm sorry you are still struggling with that headache and I hope your dog get better soon!

Today is my first day off. I'm getting my hair done but it's very bittersweet because my longtime hairdresser (17 years) passed away unexpectedly just a few days after he did my hair last month. I am nervous about someone messing with my already yucky hair but hoping for the best.

Accountability: yesterday went according to plan but on the way home from rehearsal I wasn't hungry so I didn't eat my planned snack. However, when I got home I wanted a "treat" for having finished work. I used the extra calories to have some almonds so my fat went up a bit and protein down a bit but still stayed within my guidelines for calories and macros.

QOTD: I love sweets and chips and I haven't really ever picked a favorite but my guess would most likely be ice cream, or chips and dip, or brownies. I could go on and on. I'd imagine any of those would be triggers so I'm not going to go near any of them.

B: decaf with premier protein and sf torani, poached egg and 2 pieces of crispy bacon

L: leftover chicken thigh with salsa

Good morning DD2 and crew! Thank you Daisy again for running this.

Pretty good day for me yesterday. I am in a rut with eating again, which actually helps me. Protein shake, yogurt, beef jerky, those are all things I do not overeat, can just put in and get on with my day. My family had BLTs fo dinner. Love those. So I had a BLT salad ... which was pretty good!

QOTD: mashed potatoes. And bread, and saltines. Slippery slope. I cannot be around any of them.

B: Premier Protein chocolate with coffee

L: Dannon greek yogurt, 1 oz cheese and salami

D: JOhnsonville brat with mustard and salad with blueberry pomegranate dressing

S: 1 oz beef jerky, hb egg, diet cran something with water

Totals: 843 calories, 84 protein, 40 carbs, 41 fat

Have a great day everyone!

Morning!

I've been MIA for a while. Work took over and by the time I got home at night? I was too tired to look at my phone or anything. Just blessed darkness and quiet.

Accountability: I have fallen face first into any and every bit of food I can get my hands onto. Cripes. It is stress related. I know it. Physically I KNOW I'm not hungry. Emotionally? Can't get enough. I need to really try and separate the work from the home life. AND, I've been approved for a panni....so that set me off as well. So excited but at the same time so anxious. Of course in my head I'm like I want to be 10 pounds lighter, so what do I do? eat myself UP 5 pounds. ARGH!! Why can't I shut off my fat girl brain? why? Been trying to really watch myself the last 3 days. But night times are killer.

QOTD: Well pre-surgery? chips. I would kill for chips. Post surgery? I'm all about the sweets. Specifically the twizzlers and nibs, and ju jubes. and I don't dump. I did a few times, but really? I don't.

Menu for today:

Breakfast: Premier protein, tea with miralax

Snack: Greek yogurt with 1TBLSP of flax and 1 TBLSP of Holy Crap Cereal

Lunch: 3oz steak, 2 oz of peppers and onions

Snack: Sugar free jello pudding with added coffee crisp protein powder

Supper: I'm working tonight, so it will be a premier protein shake most likely.

Question for you guys. How much/many ounces do you eat each meal? Like when you measure out your meat? Do you still measure?

Exercise: did the treadmill this morning, working tonight so I will get in roughly 25,000 steps.

Have a great day everyone!

I eat 3-4oz of meat for a meal, and I ALWAYS weight it. I know me, and I always underestimate the weight if I eyeball it.

I still measure everything at home, and I bring pre-measured meals to work.

Obviously I don't measure when I'm eating out though, I don't have a travel scale. But I try really hard to measure as closely as I can, and get the rest into a to-go box before I even start eating. That helps a lot.

**edited to add that I measure out 2.5-4 ounces... if it's a really dense protein like steak, I can eat less and be happy... if it's something that has other things mixed into it, then my ratio goes up... but never past 4 ounces for the total meal MOST of the time. If I put more on my plate than that I'm usually not able to eat it (if it's good dense protein anyway).

I always weigh it. I even weigh how much premier protein and sf torani I put in my coffee. I seem to have more protein per meal that some. I have between 4-5oz for lunch and dinner.

Good Morning Menu Mates:

We are having a summer divisional meeting today from 11-1:30. A southern style lunch is being served which is too heavy (my old self would love, love this!) I am taking my lunch & drink with me.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Again, the 10 PM beast reared its head--had granola with vanilla protein shake warm--OMG! Problem is, I have to sit up for an hour and let meat digest. I saw the meatballs but my brain said "enough meat"! WTH?! I've got to stop!

M1: Chai and decaf with vanilla protein shake

M2: 4 meatballs with blueberry greek yogurt

M3: 4 meatballs with vanilla greek yogurt

M4: Turkey burger with cheddar cheese

V: yes

L: yes

E: 2 mile walk this morning

Have a fantastic day everyone!

crazy, crazy morning at work. It's not supposed to be like this in the summer! But tomorrow I'm headed to Chicago for the conference (five days). I can't wait!!!

Accountability: I went out to lunch again yesterday with my cousin and ordered this salad with grilled chicken, gouda cheese, and candied pecans on it. I intended to eat half of it, but I ate the whole damn thing (c. 800 calories, by my calculation). I ate a much small dinner than planned (plain Greek yogurt and strawberries), but still, my calories were way over. Not happy with myself. Today WILL be a better day. I have a board meeting tonight for the organization I'm an officer for. We're having a taco bar. I'll just get the chicken and the fixin's and skip the tortilla (and possibly skip the black beans as well - I'd normally eat them because they're so healthy, but I need to try to offset the extra calories from yesterday if possible)

so sorry to hear you and Amy are still sick, DD2!!

2 years out:

B: homemade plain Greek yogurt, strawberries

S: coffee with half & half, vanilla chai tea protein shake

L: leftover grilled chicken salad from two days ago (it's starting to look a little sad...), nectarine

D: grilled chicken & taco fixin's (no tortilla)
