Whispering....and they ALL napping, at the SAME time, right now...that will last a hot minute, no doubt!! They range in age from 11 months-21 months...4 girls and 1 boy...All the boy (he's the oldest) have been with me since birth, so they don't try to get cray cray TOO often

  1. Bless me menu folks for I have sinned. I've got some Ecuadorian dark chocolate sitting in my freezer and I've taken to breaking off a piece and dipping it in peanut butter. Delicious. It's a far cry from the old days when the whole bar woulda been in my belly but those looking to lose weight cannot be eating candy. Duh.

So on my morning walk I passed my gym which I've been basically ignoring since my gallbladder surgery last Thanksgiving. I did a few training sessions as part of my insurance requirements and then a few other times but I've only been averaging once or twice per month for the last 6 months. Anyway I went in and got on the treadmill. Usually I just walk up a hill until I burn 300 cals or so. But today I actually jogged. I probably did 10 mins straight which isn't exactly legendary but I doubt I've run that long in 15+ years. I woulda run longer but I was scared I'd have some cardiac event or something!

My 3 month anniversary was last night and I'm just a bit shy of 60 lbs lost. Looking and feeling so much better but also cognizant that this is not the time to let up off the gas. Gotta work harder. The first 60 lbs are the easy ones right?

Scott - We will pretend you asked for my ever so sage advice...Be careful...Very, very careful...You are at the post op stage where you are going to lose weight, even if you eat elephant size chocolate, dipped in diamonds and PB...

There are a million things, in this world I DON'T know jack about...but what NOT to do, if you want to be a successful RNY post op, on a normal timeline? I'm your girl !!!

Hello Everyone,

It's happy last day of school for me! Can't wait. I just hope I'm able to find things to keep me busy and not eating over the summer. I haven't really had time off since I came back to work after surgery so it will be interesting to see how I can handle free time and food issues. I'll probably need you all to help!

Accountability: Everything was as planned yesterday, but my last snack wasn't until 10:30 so the scale went up an entire pound today. At least I think that's what happened and I'm sticking to it. The issue was I wasn't hungry and I ate it anyway. I realize I need to work on that. It also was helping me stay up while I drove back from Boston, but gum would have done the same thing. I have to remember that I don't have to finish all my food when I'm not hungry. That's just a new one for me to work on I guess.

my cousin is leaving today to go back home (boo!! It's been so much fun having her here!!), but on Friday morning I leave for Chicago for a five day conference, then the day I leave I'm meeting a friend from Istanbul at O'Hare airport, and we'll bus back to Wisconsin together. She'll be here for two months doing research. Hallelujah!! This is going to be a banner summer!!!!

yesterday was fine foodwise. We went out to dinner again (I got a Thai-style grilled chicken salad), and I would have gone over my calorie budget except for the fact that I didn't remember to drink the other half of my protein shake until around 10:00 pm - so I skipped it and stayed under my limit (by a hair, but that still works!) YAY!! Now it's really back to the grind. I'm going to take a few protein bars to the conference in case I have times when I can't really find anything that's going to work for me and will keep me within my calorie range. The prospect of doing a lot of restaurant eating scares me - esp after all the meals out the last few days (with my cousin here).

B: plain homemade Greek yogurt, strawberries

S: other half of my protein shake from yesterday, coffee with half & half

L: final lunch with my cousin - not sure what but something safe!

D: leftover Thai grilled chicken salad

probably a L&F yogurt or SF protein pop if I can afford the calories

ex: yoga
