6/14/17 surgery
So my surgery was yesterday. I'm really feeling it today. Lots of pain in my left side. Very hard to get comfortable. I've been sleeping a lot so it seems like I'm probably not keeping up with the drinking requirements. All I've had was water and a tiny bit of chicken broth for breakfast and beef broth and jello for lunch. I'm glad it's done and now I can truly begin my new journey. I did lose 11 lbs on the pre-op diet. According to my scale it was 14 but whatever haha.
day 2 was by far my worst, everything improved days 3 and on.

Ditto for me. Unfortunately I've had several abdominal surgeries in my life and day 2 has always been the worst. Hang in there it gets better and is so worth it. Don't be afraid to use the pain meds early on to keep the pain in control. It's harder to bring back down if it get's too bad.
Surgery Date June 3, 2016

Congrats. And welcome to the other side.
I was so thirsty I had to control myself from gulping too much water. I must have had 1 sip of soup during the whole 72+ hours I was there.
It really takes a bit of focus to get all your fluids in. You sort of have to force it for the first few weeks. It used to take me an hour just to drink an 11 ounce protein shake.
Get an early start is my best advice.
