NSV and SV
NSV first:
I had a great night playing beach volleyball last night after cycling to and from work and doing the yard work. It felt good, and I was able to dive, hop up, dive again, hop up, and dive again in one sequence (I swear the other team was doing it on purpose....but I jumped up and spiked it after all of that, for the point LOL). I was able to put the ball wherever I wanted to on the serve, and the other team referred to me as the sniper. Haha
I'm loving being able to be active like that. It's rubbing off on my kids, which is encouraging. I don't want them to go down the same road as I did. Equipping them with the knowledge and skills about exercise and proper diet is so important, and they're getting it.
I've been able to get into XL undergarments (and some t-shirts), down from 3XL (or 4XL, depending on where it was made). I pulled up last year's bathing suit, an article I'd forgotten about replacing until the day I wanted to go to the beach. It dropped to the floor, so my wife grabbed an XL and it was fine. The smaller sizes have been surprising and encouraging.
The SV: I'm 3.5 months out from surgery, exercising and working out lots; 78 lbs down and 40 lbs to goal. Hoping to get there and then another 20 by maybe Christmas. I weighed myself yesterday morning and this morning. 3 lbs. I'll take that.
It's hard work, but so worth it.

Lol no, not Cali. I'm a Canuck. We play beach volleyball if enough of us chisel through the ice far enough to find the beach. LOL I Love that movie though
Its actually a pretty nice court they've got. They need to rake out the pine needles more, but it's ok

Ah yes I forgot you're the former goalie! Makes sense
semi-relevant side note: as a kid I used to think why wouldn't a team just get a really fat goalie that could just block the whole net without really moving?
hAHAHA! In high school I WAS the fat goalie! Because I played baseball and hockey a lot as a kid, I was pretty agile and a fairly fast skater, but more often than not I made the save because it just hit me and dropped to the ice in front of me. I was more apt to be aggressive and took a lot of penalties though, because playing fired me up and the anger at the teasers came out on the ice. Not that I minded though. LOL
Gotta be lucky to be good, and good to be lucky.

Absolutely brother! And stay outta the crease, that's where I did my best "stick work". LOL
My brother-in-law (or outlaw, as he says) plays goalie too, and he wants me to get back into it once I'm at a comfortable playing weight. If I can hit 200 or so, it might just happen.
Cheers!

Got it. I'm out in New York and got into hockey at the time of the Islander dynasty. I was a big Billy Smith fan so I used to do some light slashing and spearing myself.
Keep up the good fight!
