Onderland and NSV's!!!!
Taken this afternoon, in my office, with my clothes on!!!! FINALLY! I'm almost five months out and just over 50 lbs down. My scale at home has said 198.5, 199, 201, 200, etc. for the last week or so but it's old and less than consistent. So it didn't really count. But this is now official and real!!! Yay me!!
I'd been having a rough time for various reasons, struggling with the "new normal" and all the adjustments. I've written and deleted several venting/raging/whining posts for this forum. There really should be a place for that on here. I wanted to vent and get support but not freak out anyone considering surgery or a newbie! Seeing this really helps my spirits, a tangible victory!
Also, I was out w/my daughter shopping for summer clothes this weekend and, on a whim, grabbed a couple things off the rack at Old Navy. Regular size Old Navy. A cute t-shirt dress in XL and a pair of pants in an 18. And they fit!!! The idea of being able to walk into just any store and have options that actually fit me is incredible! It really did feel good. The last time I fit anywhere near these sizes was just before my wedding in 2003 - the last time I managed to lose a bunch of weight. Since then it's been about what looks presentable and fits - not what looks good or "oh, that's cute". And then being upset when I catch a glimpse of my reflection in a window. I am so ready to feel "cute" again and not dread being seen. You know what I mean?
My personality is such that the negative thoughts and emotions tend to take up way too much space in my head. I have to intentionally look for and focus on the positives to try to balance things out. So, this is my good news and progress report!! Hope you're having positives in your day too!
Take care!
Congrats on your loss!

Congratulations!!! Breaking into Onderland is truly a huge SV!
Don't get too close to those clothes you just bought... they will be big on you before you know it!
I go to Goodwill - even now where I am past my goal - and I find the CUTEST clothes there, and frankly, I've become somewhat addicted to the shopping there. I know it's harder in the bigger clothes, but at an XL or even the 18's you'll find lots more options. I swear by it, and it feels good as I explore new fashions to be able to try out things, wear them once or twice, and not feel badly if I decide I don't like it... I just donate them back so someone else can enjoy as well!
Soon you will be prancing around in Mediums and 8's!
