Good morning guys!

Yesterday marked the first day of summer vacation for my little guy and we spent a good portion of the day busy busy busy. We went up to the school to help his teacher clean the classroom so she didn't have to do it alone (normally she has an aide but her aide just had a baby!), and then we went to the Y and I signed him up for a couple weeks of day camp (conveniently timed for when I'm having my surgery so he will keep busy and not worry about mommy too much) and finally we capped it off by spending a few hours at the pool. It's been in the 90s here so being in the water is AWESOME. Today is another crazy busy day so I'm trying to squeeze in my post before we jet out for more things. I'm doing business taxes this morning, then we're off to a couple appointments, a playdate, and finally lifting at the Y!

Accountability: Thus far I've been doing alright with my liver-shrinking diet, yesterday I had 1596 calories, 112g protein, 185g carbs. The carbs were a bit higher than I'd like due to things like banana, and my sargento balanced break snack, but overall the numbers were far better than what I used to consume.

Countdown to RNY: 8 days!!! I've been researching the boards like crazy lately...about recovery, about exercise, about drains, pretty much whatever question pops into my brain!

Menu:

B: Decaf tea w/FF 1/2 and 1/2 and Siggi's Raspberry Skyr

S: Protein Shake w/benefiber

L: Hamburger Patty

S: Protein Shake

D: TBD - Meat of some variety w/Veggie

E: Lifting day!

Have a great Tuesday guys!

Just an FYI, I think most of us here, especially post-op, have had much better luck with Miralax instead of Benefiber... so if it's not working for you, might want to try out the Miralax.

That pre-op diet was the worst part for me! Hang in there, you'll be on the loser's bench before you know it!

Thanks! I actually read your reply before I mixed up my shake so I used the miralax instead of the benefiber :)

Morning menu peeps!

Had a good night last night... daughter had a few friends over that I cooked for, and they all ended up grabbing an instrument in her room and started playing together (she has a keyboard, guitar, ukulele, saxophone, flute and a violin in her room, plus her brother pulled out his trombone!)... it was loud, out of key, and no one is joining a rock band anytime soon... BUT, I loved it. I'm TRYING to get to know this (STOOPID) new boyfriend better, because we all know that at almost 18 you can't stop them from seeing someone, so my theory is to have him over MORE. We'll see how that goes.

My menu yesterday went like this... 3.5 ounces of the fried cauli-rice for breakfast and lunch, 1 ounce of beef jerky throughout the day, plus a cheese stick... then 2 ounces of short rib (it sat so heavy I couldn't eat much), 1 ounce of roasted broccoli, and 2T of mac and cheese, then a latte for a snack. Totals were 722 calories, 28 carbs, and 101 protein Carbs were higher because of that mac and cheese for sure, but I'm OK with those ending numbers.

B: Not sure because I am eating the freezer surprises this week before vacation

L: See above (choice are chicken leg meat, taco meat, beef roast, all measured out to 3.5 ounces)

S: cheese stick and/or beef jerky (1 ounce)

D: No one will be home until after 8... I'll be on my own, but it won't be those short ribs... LOL!

S: Beloved Fairlife Latte!

New number on the scale this morning! 139.6! Had to share a picture

Awesome numbers on the scale Pam! I've found that are some meats I just can't eat since surgery--just too dry even with sauces. My list of no nos is short ribs, chicken breast sometimes and corned beef always. Also some cuts of venison just are rough for me to stomach too. On chicken I've changed to boneless skinless thighs at home because they're more moist most times than breast meat.
