What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Good afternoon Daisy and gang!
Oh man am I having a MONDAY. Sunday I was trying to make up for lack of steps and activity on Saturday by going for a nice long hike in the heat. About 2 miles from my parking place the trail joined a jogging trail that ran mostly downhill. Being the bright person I am, I thought I could just jog a mile of it, in my normally extremely slow jogging pace (17 minute miles) and get my run in for my 5K training while I was already sweaty and dirty. You know what is embarrassing? Having to sit on the side of a road and assure passersbys that you're fine, just resting until you can actually walk again!Eventually I made it to my car, cranked up the air, drank some water, but it was still almost 30 minutes until my pulse dropped down to a normal range. I refueled on sashimi, drove home, and was basically toast. I was SO EXHAUSTED that sat on the floor of the shower, and then I couldn't even manage the drive to Columbus last night so I drove down this morning, going straight to the office in less than business attire (skirt, heels, but a too casual top). Of course i didn't have my parking badge or my work ID with me, and my first meeting was with my director. ARGH!!!
On the upside, I feel pretty good today, not nearly as sore as I expected to feel! I credit the excellent protein post work out ;-)
QOTD- I am living in three or four locations depending on who you ask, so I swear I never know what groceries are in what location! Lately I've been shopping as needed for one or two days of meals. I keep staples like protein powder, cottage cheese, and plain yogurt, almost everywhere. I've been using an app at work for meal planning which allows me to create a shopping list, which I can email to myself, and that helps me make sure I'm getting in at least ONE real meal a day. Most breakfasts are either eggs or cottage cheese with protein powder.
Before WLS I used to make bad food choices when I drank alcohol (another bad choice of course). Now I make my bad food choices after extremely hard workouts. It's like I get FAMISHED and even if I first eat a good quality protein, there's about a five hour span of time where I am very vulnerable to bad choices. At least I'm learning the signs and situations that trip me up. That said, the good bad and ugly of my eating is still hovering around 700 cal/day average and my carbs are averaging above my goals at 35g/day but they are trending downward each week.

Good afternoon!
I'm late posting today - just getting back in to the swing of things after a wonderful 4 days away. i have exciting news!! We have found a house! It's perfect for us, and we are so thrilled with how everything has worked out. It's a 4 level backsplit and all 4 levels are finished. It's in a great location and it has a great yard.
In other news, it's my 5 month surgiversary, and in spite of hitting a 2 week stall, I am down 11.7 lbs this month for a total of 84.8 lbs (including the 13 lbs of pre-op weight loss). I'm now single digits to one-derland!!! That has seemed so unattainable for so many years, and now it's almost here. I will have to take some progress pics tonight.
QOTD - coupons do not work for me. We don't get a lot of coupons here in Canada but I will buy things just because I have a coupon so that's not good. Since my hubby works at a grocery store, we shop mostly at the store where he works - Freshco. But I will also shop at No Frills and Walmart. I especially love Walmart's online ordering system- but I will only use that when I have a coupon. I just remembered they just sent me a $20.00 off $50.00 order so I will use that. I make a list for some things, but not everything. I have to get better at budgeting so a grocery list and meal planning need to become more important for us.
Menu:
B: Protein Shake
L: leftover rotisserie chicken (Swiss Chalet for the Canadians)
D: up in the air- we have to go back to see our house tonight and sign papers. Hubby is home so he will be getting supper ready.
E: I'm doing one called Extreme Focus today.
