Welcome to Monday! This weekend was truly delightful. I can't even. There have been so many hard, stressful, painful or challenging times in my life that I honestly have come to deeply appreciate the joy in good days. This weekend I didn't do anything 'special' but I had so much joy. Friday night I got a bunch of laundry done, cleaned house some, and played cards with my Guy. Saturday we got up and lounged about, played more cards, I gave him a straight razor shave*, we went into the city and met with a bunch of friends to plan fund raisers and giggle, got an epic no-bun lettuce wrapped hamburger from a place called P. Terrys, and drove him home through the winding country roads chit chatting the whole way. He had had 2 beers so he was super funny and chatty...he rarely drinks at all. Sunday we got up early and headed in to the city again where I taught a diversity class all morning, we visited with our friends, stopped by a Whole Foods 365 (new grocery store) and bought luscious peaches, Costco for steaks, drive home through the country again, grilling for dinner, long call with a mentor of ours about organizing our finances, and then played cards again. Nothing special...everything beautiful.

*Straight razor shaving someone you love is one of the most connective sexy things I can think of. Highly recommend if you want a romantic way to treat someone in your life. If they don't shave their face, perhaps their legs? I used a tea kettle to make 'hot towels' like at the barber. I bought a cheap straight razor handle from a local barber shop...low cost investment for high return.

QOTD: Groceries are usually a weekend thing when I am organized and on track. If not, I end up running to the store during the week multiple times. I rarely use coupons but I do shop for what is on sale, I would rather re-plan meals around what is marked down than buy the regular price items. I like to think of grocery shopping as safari hunting for the 'best deal.' lol

Menu: B: Homemade Greek yogurt, granola, and banana; L: Same thing but with a peach; D: Left over Italian soup reheated; S: Apple; ES: Popcorn

Accountability: I'm using my vapor stick again as a crutch. The Guy is having a backslide...beer related. So the vapor is keeping me away from his pack of smokes. Weight is down again, 123. Not really doing anything different but very busy and active so shrug I will take it.

Have a great week everyone,

~E

Hello all:

Posting most of last week for CAMAW really helped me to stay accountable. So, I am going to try and not let this job thing get in my way and post every day this week! Wish me luck!

QOTD: Since my husband is retired and does most of the cooking, he also does most of the shopping. He has been very supportive and is semi-following a low(er) carb diet and has lost almost 20 lbs. We usually agree to a menu for the week. I do add to his list if i don't see things I need to stay on plan.

Hello Everyone,

I had a nice weekend but I never seem to get everything done I want. It was graduation at our school so I needed to be on hand to make sure all the of singers were ready to go and not too nervous. All in all it went well and I'm looking forward to ending this year and starting a summer on June 22nd.

QOTD: I usually shop on Sunday for the week. I like to go to our local chain "Dave's" to get most of our groceries but I sometimes have to go to Stop & Shop for the one or two things Dave's doesn't carry. The businesses in our town do a lot to support our school musical so I prefer to shop as local as possible when I can.

B: decaf, protein hot chocolate

S: string cheese

L: Chicken sausage with mustard

Our weekend was great - what's not to like about Aruba and vacation?

QOTD: When the kids lived with us, I always shopped on the same day, same store, with coupons and list. Now with just DH and I, I go as needed, but still with a list (sometimes a couple of coupons but I don't work at it). I use 3 different stores depending on what I need and what other errands I am doing. I keep a running list of things needed on the counter (have always done that).

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: ?

S: cheese sticks, protein bar

Good morning all. Weekend was good, but too short. I went to my friend's daughter's dance recital yesterday. It was awesome to see her improvement off of last year and a good reminder that with hard work and dedication, there's always a way to improve. It's supposed to get hot here this week, which reminds me that I need to have my air conditioner serviced. Hope they have a spot for me this week or my poop siberian husky will be really mad and HOT!!

DQOTD - I shop at various stores, depending on what I need for the week, where the rest of my errands take me and the weekly specials. I've found that many of the stores around here have equivalent sales so it really just depends on what I need. Certain things I buy from certain stores, like I only buy lunch meat from Ralphs (a Kroger equivalent), Sprouts or whole foods. I like the brand they sell better. Let's just say I have no company loyalty. I will use coupons that the stores send me (although it creeps me out that they track my purchases so closely), but I don't scour the newspapers or anything like that for coupons.

My plan: So, I went off the rails big time this weekend. From past posts you all may know how I have a hard time with certain friends. Last year I had to rein it in because they showed up on my doorstep 2 days after I got home after my revision. This year, I let her get to me again, and there was no reining it in I went a bit crazy. See below:

This happened after we saw Wonder Woman and I ate my weight in popcorn. Ugh. Today is another day to make better choices, right?

My plan:

B: 2 oz ham, string cheese

S: HB egg and skinny latte (double star day)

L: Sirloin steak and cauliflower (although I may dump the cauliflower)

S: Yogurt before the gym if needed

D: Tri Tip

Here's to better choices and being strong enough not to let others influence your behavior.

I messaged Julia when I was there and said "who needs Paris?" Maybe I do. The macarons were underwhelming actually. I have 2 more left. I've had the pistachio and the salted caramel. Meh.
