Morning Menu Peeps!

5 more wake ups until I'm on a plane and headed to Cancun for a VERY much needed family vacation!!! Woot Woot!

Had a good, but still TOO BUSY weekend. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks. I realized yesterday that, when we get back from our vacation, and then I get back from Austin... the hubs AND the kids will ALL be gone... for TWO WEEKS.... I haven't been alone without a spouse or kids around for two weeks since... well since before my daughter was born for sure... so over 18 years. I'm kind of excited, and also a little nervous... what does one do for 2 weeks ALL ALONE in their house?! I don't remember!

QOTD: OK, so we USED to go shopping every Saturday morning... We don't go to Walmart, I won't shop there unless there's no choice. So we hit SAMS (Yes, I know they are owned by Walmart, but Costco hasn't opened in OKC yet), then over to Crest - a local grocery store. Sometimes we also hit Aldi on certain weeks as well. I do stop at Sprouts a lot on the way home for fresh produce, and for their meat sales. I don't use coupons, but I applaud those that do! We use an app called AnyList that we both can add things to, so if one of us goes to the grocery store without the other, we can get what we need. It works great for us... when we remember to use it!

Weight this morning 140.0. I tried so many things this morning (including peeing as many times as I could) to make that scale hit 139.8 and it wouldn't do it! 140.0 is a new low for me... I think it's the residual results from AMAW. Score!

12 months out from surgery, going for a stretch goal/maintenance weight of 135-138

B: chicken fried (Cauli) rice 3.5 ounces

L: See above

S: .5 ounces of beef jerky

D: Short ribs and some side which I haven't decided what yet. Gonna run by Sprouts on the way home Maybe grilled zucchini and mushrooms on the grill

S: Fairlife latte (Oh how I missed you my love) and some more beef jerky if I need it

Vacation! Yay! Tulum is worth the side trip if you have the time. Have a wonderful time, and watch those margaritas. They are sneaky *******s.

i get you about Walmart. I will not shop there either. No judgement for those that do, but I just can't.

I don't drink margaritas... or any sugar-based alcohol drinks...

When I went low carb many moons ago, I found that I was the pre-op weirdo that dumped on margaritas (and only margaritas)... I didn't know it was 'dumping' at the time, but I found myself in a bathroom with cold sweats, nausea, and diarrhea on more than one occasion when I would have a margarita... So, because I AM going to drink alcohol while I'm there, I am bringing with me an array of SF water flavors to combine with whatever alcohol I have... so I'll be ordering something like a tequila/water, then adding the skinny girl margarita flavor... or rum/water and adding the pineapple Is it bad that I've thought this through that much??!

Walmart leaves me feeling angry and stressed when I do go in there... and I won't go into how i feel about their business practices!

I won't shop there either - the way they force their employees to work "part-time" to avoid paying them health insurance...it burns my butt!

I have to second what MaryAnn said - try Tulum if you have a chance. I was there last year and my BF and I rented a car and drove the 1.25 hours to Tulum - calm, gorgeous, warm water...we were lazy, had shrimp quesadillas by the water, and just enjoyed the HELL out of it - then we toured the ruins which is amazing.

Also, in Cancun, if you have a chance, go have dinner at Porfirios. An INCREDIBLE restaurant and the presentation of the food is amazing - tons of protein options but don't count out the table side corn :)

Have fun!!!

We are going to an all-inclusive place, so I don't see us going out of the 'compound' for food at this point... but we were considering renting a jeep for a day drive, so we'll definitely keep Tulum on the radar! I'd love to see the ruins for sure!

I've been to Can****wice and the food in our all-inclusive hotels was mediocre at best, even with the buffet and various "theme" restaurants. Consider checking out Porfirios after a few days - the ambiance, sitting outside, having incredibly delicious and fresh Mexican food (so many meat and seafood choices!) is well worth the additional cost :) The service is also awesome. Just my two cents - and hopefully your resort has delicious food!

Well, I am REALLY trying to not make this about food... but about the experiences. So I want to find an excursion of some sort to do something really fun and active... as long as I can pick out bacon for breakfast, and seafood for the rest of the day, I'll be a happy camper (this is all in theory... I'll definitely put the name of this place on my phone should we need it though! LOL)... best laid plans, right?

We'll only be there for 3 full days... I wi**** were longer!
