What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Good morning Daisy and friends! Happy check-up day!
Didn't get all done I wanted this week-end :( It was HOT in the sun!
QOTD: Coming from a family with 5 kids I learned to stock up while on sale, and that's how we shop.we have the room, so 30 packs of tp and paper towels are common. Jim, the butcher, will stock up on different meats while on sale at his store. I will get most produce, fresh and frozen and dairy at Aldi's. I always shop with a list for needs, and use coupons !! There is a small grocery store about 5 min from home, but it's SO expensive it's for an emergency only!

Great weekend/bad eating
Saturday I went to a lavender festival which was hosting all day yoga /meditation sessions. The first yoga was vinyasana flow and it was pretty fast.it was outdoors and my mat was filled with ants. I could not deal as they were crawling on me and I pushed through that first hour. then I did a 45 min meditation session without ants and that went better. Then they had little vendors that has samples so I tasted lavender choc, lavender marshmallow, and lavender shortbread cookie bite. all were excellent. Then I had jerk pork and asparagus for lunch and started back home after running errands. (went to TJ's, got car washed by football players for charity, went to michaels (cake decor items), and old navy (had to spend style cash). Came home and made this new cupcake recipe. so light an fluffy white cake- the batter made 3 dozen so i kept churning them out. left the decorating for sunday.
sunday I made two frostings vanilla bean and chocolate, made some gum paste decorations (buttons and ribbons) and then frosted up the cupcakes and decorated them. I made boston creme, chocolate peanut butter, cookies n creme, marshmallow, and plain. I did eat some at the neighbors house, and again last night. I think this was the closest I ever came to a dumping situation if that is what dumping is. I had a swollen stomach, felt like barfing and generally just wanted to lay down and die which is what I did at 10 pm. good news is today I don't want to look at ANYTHING sugary or carb like. I will be having dense protein and liquids all day.
I didn't weigh today, I know my weight has been at 128 from the salt laden meats last week and this carb attack incidents of this weekend. Onward and downward to the scale decreasing. also from starting back up this yoga practice.
Tonight is either yoga or support group (which is 45 min away) yoga is only 10. I feel like the support group is more important at this time due to my night eating episodes the last days.
QOTD: I'm an avid couponer. I don't like to buy things that are 'regular' price and look for coupons. I usually only buy what is on sale in circular or marker down for quick sale. I just take them home and cook em up

I am sorry that left you feeling so yucky! I got a birthday cake for Grim's b-day. Last night we both had a piece, and afterwards we were groaning and regretting. I went down and threw the rest of the cake into the trashcan while it was fresh enough in my mind to remember the feeling. I knew that I would have "forgotten" and eaten another piece today...
yes, I have to remind myself of this. Maintenance is so hard, those carb demons always are out to get you. the GOOD news is today I woke up with NO DESIRE to eat ice cream/cupcakes anymore...
DH (my John) will just need to eat them or they are going in garbage tomm.
On another positive note, I got an order for 4 dozen of them for my nephews graduation party next month. So I will be off to plan the perfect recipes for that.

I think I have short-term memory problems when it comes to sweets. I guarantee you that if it was not in the trash this morning, I would have looked in the fridge and thought... "ooh cake!"...and eaten another piece today.
I have only had one full on "real" dump in 2 years. The rest of the time I feel just a little queasy and sweaty if I eat too much. Just enough to stop me from eating more in that sitting, but not enough to stop me from eating it the next day, again.
After hearing how terrible true dumping is for those who experience it, I am grateful that it doesn't happen to me. But I wish I was smart enough to let the symptoms that do affect me, support better decision making.
Good morning. I thought I'd start posting my menu to see how that helps. Thanks for doing this.
QOTD: We go to a local Roundy's specialty store in our area - Mariano's. It's at the high end. But they have the coolest stuff. It's one of those places that will cook for meal for you and it comes out perfect. They are the new hot thing. But we do go to Walmart weekly for the staples. There is also a local place - Farm Fresh that has great prices on produce and lots of multi-cultural selection. I'll use a coupon for the big stuff, but not clip them and organize them. We typically shop on Sunday. Oh and P.S. TJ's usually monthly for the stock up of key items. Yes I do have a list, but that usually is just the starting point ;)
B - Greek yogurt 4 ounces (with a few berries)
Snack - hard boiled egg
L - Pulled pork with low carb BBQ sauce (3.3 ounces); small salad
Snack - Premier shake
D - Costco chicken burger; 4 or 5 baby Brussels sprouts
S - Ounce of beef jerky or .5 ounces of almonds (sometimes and)

Welcome to the Menu board! It is a great help for me to post here... not only does it keep me accountable, but I get great ideas for meals by reading other people's menus!
