AMAW/CAMAW final thoughts
While I'm unofficial since I was a lurking participant, I though I'd post this weeks loss. I lost a staggering 7.0 pounds. That was almost twice my normal weekly average loss since the beginning of 2017. I will continue to eat this way for now.
Thank you
Scott

Good Evening Daisy & Meat Eaters:
Daisy, you are amazing! Thank you for organizing this and I appreciated the daily words of inspiration.
I started at 175 lbs and stayed at 175 lbs. I wasn't surprised since I've had revision surgery and have lost 25 of my 30 regain pounds already.
I truly enjoyed reading everyone's daily menu and got lots of ideas. It was a pleasure meeting everyone on a more personal note.
My Aha Moment: I have determination! I am going to work this tool because my quality of life depends upon it! Only I am accountable for my food choices; I will not make excuses and will keep my eye on the prize. I will reached my goal of 160 pounds.
Kat W. has a quote in her signature that I take to heart--What you eat in private, you wear in public. I will post this in my work cubicle to keep me focused.
I look forward to September.
This was my first challenge. Wow isn't this more fun than some lame 5 day protein shake thing? I love that so many people participated.
I found shortucuts to eating meat. More tuna, roast beef, and quick cooking fish. I already eat a ton of shrimp.
I have a bread problem. It manifests itself in many evil ways. I've stopped my favorite (toast) but I had been using a piece of bread for sandwiches. This challenge broke me of that.
I lost 4 pounds and lost another pound today. I've added back blueberries in my yogurt and I ate vegetarian chili tonight.
The last day was really hard. It was important to me to finish and I did.
Thanks again,
Deb

Hi Daisy and Meaties!
Thanks again for hosting this! I agree that one of the best things about it is that it brings OH together :) Here are my final tallies and thoughts:
- I lost 2lbs (which is pretty good since I am in maintenance and already below goal)!
- I never cheated (except I ended before midnight on Fri to celebrate Grim's bday)
- I felt pretty comfortable with the challenge. It was not on my mind all the time like it was during the first few challenges.
- It was a hard and busy week for me and I didn't ever feel 100% prepared. I wish I had prepped more meals over the weekend. It helped me get serious about the upcoming week ahead and I already have lunches made and packed for the next 5 days :)
- I am confident that if I want to really really really buckle down to get further below goal, I need to give up the dairy carbs, too.
Have a great week, everyone!
I found CAMAW rules to be really great in keeping me away from excess carbs and basically doing a reset. I lost 2 pounds which was a fair amount since I am pretty low in BMI these days. It did give me the cushion and de-carbing I needed before vacation.
BUT - YES! That head-hunger is real people! I had a bout when BIL brought homemade chocolate chip cookies. It struck me after eating dinner (which is usually my danger time), and I had cottage cheese (but I was still full from dinner so couldn't eat much). I bet I could have scarfed a bunch of those cookies though. But I didn't (not that day). However in full disclosure I did have a few Saturday night (then I told DH to hide them).
Thanks for leading this Daisy. Maybe I'll be brave and try full AMAW next time (though I'm not sure I could).

Hi all,
Sorry I'm a bit late posting here, but better late than never. I admit I struggled this week but I think it helped me understand a bit more about my appetite. I figure any more understanding counts as a win at this stage because my ultimate goal is to be as prepared as possible for life after the cutting. That being said I did lose just under 3 lbs so that's not too shabby.
I think my biggest take away is actually from reading everyone's responses. It made it much clearer how hard this process even after the surgery. I heard a lot of people say that they were surprised by how many non-protein foods had crept into their diets and I know that is something I will have to watch out for too.
The best news is it is sounding like the next AMAW will be after my surgery, so it will be a whole new experience for me :) I'm getting excited already.

Jakosaurus,
I am impressed with the fact that you CHOSE to participate in the challenge pre-surgery! Hats off to you. You are getting your mental game in order (the most challenging component of WLS IMO) which is to be commended.
Thank You!!! I appreciate it :D

Always love doing AMAW/CAMAW.
Had a great week with a 7.2lbs lose. I always end up with a good loss when I eat just meat. Did not have my Saturday morning coffee like originally planned, ended up having one later in the afternoon after working outside all day.
Can't wait till the next one, I think we should do them quarterly.
Thank you again Daisy for all your hard work!!!!
