AMAW/CAMAW final thoughts
Hi MC DD2! This week has been awesome- I sincerely thank you for coordinating it. I went into CAMAW @194.5, weighed today at 191.5, so -3# this week.
I'll say the same about CAMAW as I did about having surgery, I did it when it was right for me. I don't think I could have taken away the valuable lessons I've learned had I participated earlier post op.
Knowing that none of us got obese eating carrots, lettuce, apples or grapes, I wondered why these weren't allowed AMAW. But I get now how they can distract from the focus. And I definitely needed to focus.
I've not gone back to cashews, granola, bread or protein bars (yet). I will add some fruits back though- I surely didn't eat them as often as those other carbs, so I'm not concerned.
My weight has been basically the same for the past nine months, CAMAW finally helped me jump out of that, now I can actually see my next goal as attainable.
September sounds perfect for the next round-- looking forward to it.

This was a great challenge for me. It really made me face how many bad habits I was letting creep in.
And I have to face reality. I have an addiction to protein bars. A true addiction. As in crave-small melt down if I can't have them. So this was an excellent exercise to help rid myself of them.
I haven't weighed yet. Will do that tomorrow but I've been having some bathroom issues so not expecting much. But how I'm feeling? Amazing!
I'm going to do this for another week. Well, that's the plan anyway!
Thanks so much for organizing! This has. We. An awesome experience for me!

Hi MC Daisy!
Thank you so much for coordinating this & cheering us on! I know this takes a lot of work & time! So thank you so much for that & I look forward to the 7 day challenge in September. I'm not sure if I'll make the switch to the AMAW, but now that I know I can still enjoy my coffee sans cream, that I could at least try. But hot damn I sure do like my protein shakes in the morning.
I'll have to say my aha moment came when I concentrated too much on what was quick & easy rather than taking my time & figuring out what I want to eat. 99 percent of the time my meals are generally the same, pre planned & on target, but when I get a little stressed or harried I fall back too quickly on snacks & go overboard on them.
I love eating moon cheese, or cheese in general, but it was becoming way too easy to eat a bag or 2 of those bad boys. Carbs also had a slow come up. A yogurt here, cottage cheese there, creamer, maybe a little granola/nuts, an extra calcium chew, these things add up!
I noticed this past week when I focused on something, even if it was small things, like coffee with no cream, or cutting back on cheese, etc. It paid off in a big way.
Still maintaining my 3lb loss & will incorporate more aspects of the amaw in my regular menu going forward.
Have a great day girl! Everyone have a great week! The grind starts again tomorrow.
