Thanks for organizing this Daisy! It was fun!

I did camaw, but only to have my morning protein shake. Otherwise, it was all meat! Cutting out cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese etc. for a bit was pretty helpful. I realized how easy it is for me to rely on slider type foods when life is busy!

Same with nuts and seeds. All good stuff, but I need to be more conscious of not allowing those foods to make up too high a percent of my daily calories. I need to Focus my meal planning around dense protein and veggies. And accept that sometimes I'm busy and hectic, and plan for it!

Added bonus: I lost 4 pounds over the week, which I'm happy with!

looking forward to the next one! September is my one year surgiversary, so I think it will be a great time for another challenge! And I'll probably try for the full AMAW experience!

First of all thank you Daisy for hosting our AMAW / CAMAW event, this was my first and will definitely not be my last. I look forward to the week long September challenge.

I chose to do CAMAW this time, but will definitely go for AMAW next time. I only chose CAMAW because I am cheap and didn't want to throw away the Greek yogurt in my fridge and I was worried about needing a protein shake to get my protein #'s in on my turn around from nights to days (and I did).

I started the challenge at 243.8 pounds and on Saturday morning I weighed in at 241.0 for a 2.8 pound loss. But even better, when I weighed in this morning I had dropped another 2.2 pounds. This gives me a 1 week total loss of 5 pounds. I couldn't be happier. I am two days from being 3 months post RNY and was really hoping to lose at least 12 pounds this months. I am sitting at 11.8 right now, so I know that it is completely doable.

Thanks to everyone for their support!!!

Tammy

CAMAW has been great so far. Still six more days for me (must be strong lol). I've lost 5 pounds so far. Would like to lose another 1-2 this week.

I don't know if I had a specific a-ha moment, but I did realize that my carbs had gotten out of control and I could get back to losing weight if I really stuck to dense protein. I woke up this morning craving a cheeseburger (bunless of course). Pre-surgery I don't think I would have eaten something like that for breakfast. Now it seems normal. I don't need to eat certain things. I won't die if I miss a few days of pudding of peanut butter.

I'm hoping that I can ease back in to some of my regular foods without all the carbs sneaking back in right away. It has been hard at some points watching my SO eat things like spaghetti and subs, but for the most part I feel satisfied with the meats and snacks I have on hand. Our cupboards are still really empty of the higher carb foods we had before, so I want to stay motivated to not buy those again.

My next step is to get more active. Once puppy 2 recovers more from surgery we can get out for more walks. But mini goals for now ;)
