hey yall

last night was yoga, it was hard and it is hard getting back into the swing of it when you have been not practicing. I did try a few times for a headstand, and almost made it- I'm going to continue to work on it every day/every other day until I can do it. Very good yoga teacher.

Food for today: all the salty food have been eaten so today will be lighter options: tuna, mussels, canned chicken, and whatever else I can find in the freezer/pantry. the smoked turkey tail wasn't bad just very salty along with the ham.

No weight loss so far, will weigh tomm.

Good morning my Meaty Friends --

This week has flown by. I am glad to learn that the next Meat Week will actually be a week long. I am looking forward to the next one!

Best part for me? I have officially given up milk/cream in my coffee. NEVER in a million years did I think that was possible.

Last night, I felt really snacky. This was probably somewhat due to my husband pulling out tortilla chips and salsa while we watched television. I sat on the couch secretly wishing I could shove the whole bag down his scrawny throat while squeezing it tightly ... but, thankfully I am not in prison this morning for assault, as I resisted the urge. He will never know how close he came...

Then, last night (yes, at night after eating and drinking all day) he casually mentioned that he just weighed himself and he'd lost 5 pounds. FIVE POUNDS. He lost five pounds eating tortilla chips and drinking beer. Therefore, I would like to propose Chips and Salsa Week next. Naturally thin people. Meh. Lol.

Years out: 3.7 years doing AMAW

Weight as of this morning: 134.2 (down 3 pounds and change)

I am all in for chips and salsa week! Can we substitute Gin and Tonics for beer? Make it happen!

May I also propose Fried Dough week? Last summer I tried Fried Dough for the first time post op and lost a full pound the next day. Using that math, 7 days of Fried Dough should have a net loss of 7lbs ;)

Of course! Fried dough is one of my favorite things -- a specialty here at the multiple church festivals that are going on. They call them "elephant ears" because, well, if you eat enough of them, you weigh as much as an elephant. Truth in advertising.

Next Saturday is Slavic Fest in the city -- we have a huge Slavic community here. Did I mention that there will be homemade pierogis drenched in butter made by old women who have magical pierogi powers? Basically pierogis are fried dough stuffed with mashed potatoes -- so would that count for Fried Dough week?

Sorry, but my husband only drinks IPAs -- so gin and tonic is out. Geez. Gin and tonic. Now you are just being ridiculous.

Thank you for clarifying what fried dough is... I was intrigued. We call them beaver tails here (so Canadian lol). They are amazing. Sign me up for fried dough week.

Oh interesting. Around here, Elephant Ears area type of fried dough, but they are roped into a circle for easy pull-apart and drenched in cinnamon sugar.

They are...not terrible...

Hah!! Those you described are a distinct class of fried dough called "funnel cakes" here!

I think I like "beaver tails" the best, though.

The drenching is either of cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. The key word here is SUGAR.

Nope, I am all over the funnel cake, these are different.

Trigger warning for carb-cravers: This is an elephant ear!

I don't know what those little puff pasty things are -- but they aren't elephant ears in these parts! No way. No how.

One would be laughed out of Cleveland ... and in Youngstown ... possibly shot for the transgression.

TRIGGER WARNINGS!!! Carb-laden crap food pics -- (it's like looking at your first jerk-love: you never want to fall for it again because it is horrible for you, but there's some part of you that stupidly romanticizes it...)

In Northeastern Ohio, this is an Elephant Ear, Funnel Cakes, Fried Dough, and Pierogi

After looking at all these pictures, not only have I triggered myself like some sort of carb-crackhead -- but it has become incredibly clear why I live in one of the most obese parts of the rust-belt.
