DAY 4 - AMAW/CAMAW - post your menu here!
So I am doing well with this but not great. Unlike what others have said I have been super hungry this week. Also I get tired a lot earlier than I have been. I don't know if that is because of the lack of veggies or if I am just not eating enough or what? Of course it could also be that we are deep into hail/storm season at work plus my semester with WGU started on the 1st :D. Also I am on the verge of a serious sugar free popsicle addiction, but I figure that will serve me well with hydration after the surgery so I'm ok with it. I'm adding some extra servings of "critter" to my meat today to see if that helps with the hunger.
Menu:
B: Coffee w/ premier protein, Smoked Sausage and cheddar cheese slices
L: Johnsonville chicken breast, light babybel cheese
D: Bacon cheeseburger w.o the bun or veggies
S: Ranch Tuna packet, Cinnamon Bun Carbmaster Yogurt, Pork Rinds, and probably more than 1 sf popsicle

I am sorry that I don't "know" you better -- but am I correct that you are pre-op?
If so, not sure of your servings, but to really get the satiation from a ketogenic diet (which is really what this is in many ways) -- one must eat whenever they're hungry until the body switches over to using protein rather than carbs for energy. Lots of fat and meat -- really even the cheese and popsicles are probably making it harder to get that "full" feeling -- because it's just enough to keep your insulin production up.
Don't be discouraged -- you are doing an amazing job. In fact, I am REALLY impressed. Don't forget, we are all building a house with the use of tools -- you are doing it with your bare hands!

"What you eat in private, you wear in public." --- Kat
Thanks for this :)
You are right that I am still pre-op but I am trying to get used to at least similar eating styles (if not amount) as after the surgery. Honestly I'm doing pretty well with it in general but this week has been like hitting a wall. I should try cutting out the popsicles but I love them lol.
ETA: I have lost 1 1/2 lbs since Sunday....so that helps ;)

Hello Fellow Meat Lovers!
I'm doing well and staying on plan. This is not all that different from how I usually eat so I'm not noticing too much. Lately I've been hungry in the mornings but I'm 8.5 mos. out and I just think hunger is returning. For breakfast I've usually just had decaf mixed with protein hot chocolate and been fine until lunch. This week I've added a snack in between that liquid breakfast and my lunch and I feel better. I'm also noticing that I must have been eating more veggies than I thought and that when I don't eat them, I craved them, although today I'm not as bad as I was the last three days. Yesterday I had a terrible headache but again today I'm fine so who knows.
B: decaf and protein hot chocolate
S: babybel and string cheese
L: 4.7 oz left over pork loin
S: 4 oz Shrimp with reduced sugar ****tail sauce
D: 5 oz Sirloin

Late post for me. My main client is in Virginia, and with the time difference, sometimes my mornings get away from me. I wanted to post anyway. For some reason, my weight is up almost 2 lbs. I'm going to chalk it up to constipation issues, since I had no luck in that department today and not freak out, throw my hands up and go back to carbs. Onward and upward as my boss is fond of saying.
My plan:
B: 2 oz ham 1 string cheese
L: Bunless burger with cheese
D: We're meeting a friend who's in from out of town, so probably tri tip. This will be my hardest test as this restaurant makes a roasted cauliflower with meat sauce and mozzarella that is AMAZING. It's going to be hard to resist.
S: Skinny latte, more ham and cheese, grilled chicken breast.
No idea on the calories, but carbs will be in the teens and only that high because of the milk in my latte.
It's truly delicious. Tip for making it at home, break up the cauliflower into smaller pieces instead of large chunks. Definitely roast it rather than steam. Steaming makes it too watery. The restaurant uses ground beef that is finely ground. The first time I made it I used a chunkier grind and while it was tasty, it wasn't as good as theirs. The next time I did it, I asked the butcher to run the meat through again and it was perfect. When I eat it, I measure out the meat first, then I measure out the cauliflower (which is why breaking it into smaller pieces helps. I also eat most of the meat first, but I do leave a bit of it behind to eat with the cauliflower.
