OK, so I'm past target, doing well...
what can I eat now? Almost 8 months out! I had a large onion ring last night without problem. I have a mini dark chocolate peanut butter cup once a day. No issue. I haven't gained back a pound and I'm 12 pounds past target.
I'm not going to eat white flour or white rice or anything with major sugar (only small amounts).
What are "good" cheat ideas.
haven't you read the numerous posts, nearly every day that say,"Help! 2,4,6 years out and I have gained 25 ,50,75 pounds back!"
how do you think they gained that weight back? It started off with one onion ring and a mini Reese's cup every day, that is how!
you don't have to have something "good" to eat. You just have to have fuel for your body, period.

At 8 months out, you can eat damn near anything and lose or maintain.
I look forward to reading more from you once your honeymoon period ends.

For me personally - I don't call that "cheating".
But when I want to get more carbs ,- I eat fruits ,- mostly berries.
Another high calories food are nuts. Both choices are rather healthy IMO. So I don't feel guilty eating that.

I can't even think about eating anything else than what I eat now. My homemade chili, shrimp, lox, chicken. I have no desire to eat anything and it is a struggle. A treat for me is Babybel light cheese rounds. I do love Siggi nonfat Greek yogurt. A real treat is Starbucks coffee with a bit of nonfat milk and a sugar free flavor.
If I ate chocolate Reese cup, I'd just get sick or relapse my diabetes. Not happening.

I'll admit this does seem like a strange place to come to ask what cheat foods you should try.
Once I hit goal and went past it (25 pounds past surgeons goal; 10 pounds past personal goal), I just kept eating what I had previously, though somewhat larger portions when hungry. In the am, I'm not super hungry so I still eat the same breakfast I've had since about one month out. I did stop losing and now bounce around by about 3 pounds (I weigh daily). I will have a taste of a dessert when out to dinner but ban them from my house (because they call to me). I also find that previously considered healthy snacks sometimes get dangerous now (almonds), so I stop buying them when they creep up. And though I will have an English muffin with peanut butter periodically I only do so when at the bottom of my range. In other words as everyone here has said, just keep on plan!

Keep yourself from going down this path as much as you can. Yes, I can eat almost anything, but the carb monster is STRONG within me and once I start, I will crave it EVERYDAY until it becomes a problem.
certain foods are issues for me and you probably know what those are for yourself. Mine are popcorn, marshmallows, chocolate, peanut butter, waffles, pancakes. those are the worse ones.
I like seaweed chips and salsa (chips are 30 calories). I like meat for snacks. if i want to have a chocolate I allow myself 1/2 or 1/3 serving of extra dark choc and force myself away from the item. Its a very slippery slope....
