3 weeks of OPTI-FAST!!!
Guelph was very quick for me. Once I got approved it was 1 month until I had surgery. I had my orientation in January and surgery May 9 :)

Toronto is also very quick. I got my approval May 9th , orientation May 15th, meet the Doctor June 5th and surgery is scheduled for June 26th. 3 weeks after meeting the Doctor and just over a month after getting my approval!
I unfortunately have to have Opti-fast for 3 weeks =( I thought it went off weight but I'm learning it depends on the Doctor.
Wow, that is quick! Yeah, for sure. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do optifast because I lost quite a bit of weight going through the process but my surgeon still made me do 2 weeks of it. Also, a girl at the same centre with the same job got 6 weeks off and I have 4 weeks off because we had different surgeons. It's all good though, I feel ready to go back to work next week.

Welcome to the Optifast world
I began my 21-day stint 15 days ago and my surgery is on June 14th. I certainly feel your pain, my first couple of days were difficult but through reading the blogs and forum on this site and patience, it became much easier. Some tips I found were:
- drink your shakes every four hours (8 a.m., noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.). This way you will have a shake around the evening belly rumbling time (7:30).
- Make sure your broth is salt-free, the extra salt retains water and makes your weight temporarily go up instead of down (was a real bummer for me when my scale numbers started going up).
- Curb your sweetener intake. Sweeteners make your body think there is more food coming so you end up feeling hungry.
- Drink lots and lots of water. I prefer the MIO adds to them as they make me think I'm having desert.
- Fancy up you final shake - My final shake of the night is a special thing for me, sort of a celebration that I made it through the day. I add MIO blueberry lemonade to my vanilla shakes and put it in a fancy glass with some mint leaves on the side. I feel like I'm at a resort or something - I know, sounds foolish but you need to celebrate where you can.
- After two or three days, your hunger will lessen and you will actually feel full at the end of each day.
These were tips I received from others and I hope they help. Good luck, I look forward to hearing how you are doing on your journey.

Thank you!!!
I have just switched my meals to every 4 hours and today is the first day the hunger isn't unbearable. I'm still hungry but not like the last 2 days. Broth is soooo disgusting so I did do bad and used the broth from a can of soup instead and strained it. The calories are more then the 10 I was told but I can't see it being much more as I'm not having the noodles. =\
But since Monday I am down 4lbs =))
The problem with the canned broth is the amount of salt that's in it. As you probably know, salt makes you retain water and that makes you gain "water weight". You are correct the broth is awful, that's why I stick to sugar free jello and flavoured tea.
Congrats on your weight loss so far. Although it's not about the weight loss but about the shrinking of the liver, the weight loss is a perk.
