Yes that would of been me! small world lol

I got my approval less then 4 weeks ago I believe it was May 12th and I just lucked out that I got into a surgery conference on the following Monday May 15th. I then seen the Doctor yesterday and have my surgery booked for June 26th. So from approval to Surgery was extremely fast. I asked and they told me usually within 2 months. I'm not sure of the time frame for Guelph as I am going to St.Mikes in Toronto.

Definitely a small world, you are from the same small town that my husband was raised and your mom and knows my husbands family.

Thanks for the information, they had told me Toronto is quicker than Guelph. Have to make up my mind.

Good Luck, will be following your post to see how you make out.

She was telling me the story when we left. And thank you. Good luck to you too! I know 2 people who went to Guelph and both have nothing but wonderful things to say. I was even told by them not to go to Toronto to go to Guelph but for travel reasons and also the fact Toronto is more equipped if there was ever a emergency I chose to go that route. It's definitely a hard decision and both all have great reviews =) Good luck on your Journey I'm sure you will be right behind me! Please stay in touch I would also love to see your Journey and how you make out.

In December Toronto Western offered Guelph as an option to help clear their backlog so I went there for my surgery. I have nothing but good things to say about Guelph. It was wonderful.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!

Good luck with the Optifast. The three weeks will fly by in no time. I've been on Optifast for almost 7 weeks now, with 5 weeks left to go, and it's not so bad. If nothing else, it's much easier than meal planning.

HW: 299 CW: 165 GW: 150

Started Optifast on April 21, 2017 at 248lbs through the Ontario Bariatric Network medical program.

Wow you are very strong willed!

I hope it gets a little easier. Everything everywhere smelt sooo good today!

My mother is looking at doing the 12 week program in the fall. I don't know if I could do it.

I "lucked out" with 1 week of Optifast, but I've kinda come to the conclusion that whether it's 1 week, 3 weeks or 12, it's not easy to mix and drink magic chocolate dust for all of your meals (my 10 yr old coined that little phrase). I never questioned the surgeon's time frame, but I guess it was because I'd lost and maintained 60 lbs prior to all of this and my bloodwork looked good. I didn't do any broth or have any other options, just stuck it out for the week and slammed a lot of water as well. I dropped 13 lbs in that week, so it worked out nicely. My only complaint was the constipation. Yikes...

I am a Windsor guy, surgery in Guelph and it was fine. No complications, very little pain. I was off most pain meds about 10 hours after surgery (Tylenol near by to take the edge off if needed), and walking the halls shortly after that. I rested a lot in the first week at home and kept sipping water, walking short distances and so on. I was home for 4 weeks, though I could have likely gone back to work in 2 and been fine at my not-so-demanding desk job. At week 4 I was cycle commuting, took it slow and had no problems. I think with any progression, slow and steady is key.

You'll do great. Congrats on this journey! My only regret is I didn't do it sooner.

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.
