DAY 2 - AMAW/CAMAW - post your menu here!
on 6/6/17 8:33 am
I would never pay to buy pre-cut sirloin tips (or steak bites) -- because you will pay 5X as much and get the crappiest pieces of sirloin that they've trimmed off the good **** It's like stew meat -- cut it yourself and have good quality meat and pay less for it!
For steak tips, I use a good quality sirloin pieces and cut them rather small. I actually buy sides of beef (1/2 a cow and split with another family member) a lot -- but if not, I ask for a piece of sirloin that's not yet cut into steaks... I also use that for making hamburger, too.

I have a nice piece of sirloin sitting in the fridge marinating... I think I'll fry it up in tips instead of just trying to grill it...
I picked it out of the freezer because it's not exactly a great cut of meat, and I figured I'd use it this week.
This is our Cow beef, so it's mostly grassfed, younger than she should have been, so it's almost been very nice tasting.
Beef tips for the win tonight!!!!

They are the strips, about 8 inches long. I prefer cooking them on the grill. JB gave me a Himalayan salt block for the grill, and I like cooking on that a lot. It's a nice cross between a pan and open flame. Best of both worlds.
They are almost as good reheated, where most cuts of steak are not.

I have found that I cut up leftover steak into bite size pieces before I heat it up... then I put it on a lower power level, and barely get it warm... seems to reheat that way better.
I have a Himalayan salt block sitting, still in the wrapper in my kitchen! I don't know why, but I'm intimidated by it! I need to unwrap that sucker and get to using it already!

Yesterday went well for me. I must say I am usually pretty meaty anyway, so this week I am just forgoing the cheese and yogurt. I often have to drink black coffee anyway because my milk seems to disappear here at the office. I can do without coffee too because I drink decaf, I think its more of a habit thing.
Anyway on to the meat.....
B - 3.9 oz pemeal bacon
S - 113 gr pot roast
L - 2.75 oz of roast chicken boob with everything spice and 1.6 oz beef meatballs

Edited to add my totals: Cal 758, Protein 107, carbs 7
Have already been to the gym this morning for cardio and weight training. Will do 5 km at lunch and a walk with the dogs after dinner!
