Day 1 went great! A coworker brought in a jumbo bag of dried mango with chile powder, but I walked right on past (repeatedly) and snacked on my jerky instead.

Tuesday is Hot Wing Night at Chez Sparklekitty, so the whole family will be getting their meat on tonight. Whoo!

B: Korean BBQ pork jerky

L: 2 sausage patties

S: 6 meatballs

D: Chicken wings

E: Hitting the gym on my lunch break for a hot date with the spin bike. I rode 25mi this weekend and my sit bones are a little sore, gotta toughen up my cheeks if I'm going to be riding ~70mi days next month!

Good for you. Those mangos are yummy and are like chips you can't have just one.

Good morning!

5 months out from surgery, CAMAW

B-Premier protein shake

L-Bratwurst

D-Grilled chicken 3 ounces

Yesterday went fine, but I'm still in the honeymoon phase anyway. I may add cheese as a snack if I get hungry, but I'm good on my protein totals without it.

Day2!!

So glad to be doing this. Last night was the first night in a LONG time I wasn't snacky. I forgot how well eating this way works. I wasn't scrounging in the fridge last night at all. Felt great to be in control!

Today my meals are almost the same. I'm a creature of habit. :) And I LOVE steak. Would eat it for every meal if I could. Then I wonder-why can't I?? LOL LOVE eating this way.

Breakfast: Tea with premier protein and restorolax, 3 OZ steak.

Snack: Light and fit Greek yogurt

Lunch: Pork chop with Heinz 57 sauce

Snack: Budding ham pack

Dinner: Can of tuna

Snack (IF NEEDED): 2oz steak. Based on yesterday? I won't need this.

Exercise: Did 5km on the treadmill this morning, getting my hair colored tonight-cover the grey, then heading out to a album release party-so hopefully some dancing!

Liquids-I drink water flavored with sugar free drink mixes. One mixed, one plain, my water bottle is 24oz and I try to do 4 while I'm working and then sip most of the night.

Have a great day everyone!!

Help me understand the reason behind all meat? Now this is JUST ME!! But isn't it just another diet where you spend the whole day thinking about what you can / will eat. Stocking up on food you can eat ? Did That for every diet. Hard not to sound like a B* just want to understand the reasoning. I am so done with 'diets' I concentrate on protein, eat a varied assortment in small portions and most times have to remember to eat. I just don't get it ? And I am not saying this nasty, truly curious.

That's what we're doing -- concentrating on protein. I spend zero time thinking about it, much less the whole day, simply BECAUSE it's simple. The only "stocking up" I do is getting extra meat when it's on sale. I can save about 50 percent on regular prices. This is the way I always eat.

Over time, people drift into old habits, and by old old habits, I mean ****ty carbs. The stuff that got us on the operating table. We drift because we can't erase decades of bad food choices in only one or two years of postop life.

AMAW or CAMAW is just a way to get back to the way we ought to be eating in solidarity with one another. I'm happy for you that you've done it all by your lonesome.

So I get what you are saying about 'fad' diets... and none of us succeeded long term with them. Agreed.

But I think this is just a good way to help those that may have had a few too many slip-ups, need a little boost to make the scale move again, or just like to have a little competitive fun among the group.

The benefit of AMAW is this. It's very short term. Not really a fad diet, as it only lasts for a few days... but it's a good way to STOP... take notice of every.little.thing that crosses our lips, and helps to reset the creepy carb crawl...

It's not done, specifically to lose a ton of weight, well at least not for me. Because really, any weight you lose on this particular challenge is a side benefit. The real benefit, for me, is that I get the reset, have a little competitive fun, and try to be successful.

If you are eating perfect and always have, then good for you.

I don't know how far out you are from surgery, but I think that the vast majority of us that are post WLS have had struggles with sneaky carbs... but perhaps you have not. My brain still craves things that are not good for me... perhaps yours doesn't. I find myself taking extra bites of things I don't need, especially now that I have met my original goal... perhaps that's not an issue for you. This fun little challenge gives me a chance to reset.

And who am I fooling? I think about what I am going to eat, all day long, no matter if there is an AMAW challenge or not! I like food... that's how I got where I was to begin with!
