DAY 2 - AMAW/CAMAW - post your menu here!
I did CAMAW the first two times I did this... because I was pretty new out and knew I needed things like my cottage cheese and protein shakes. I couldn't consume enough meat at that point.
I only got brave enough this go round to go full AMAW because I know my pouch can handle it this go round.

Almost everyone who has started out doing AMAW ends up switching to CAMAW by week's end. No big deal at all.

I agree with this method, that way you don't feel like you're "failing". I'm doing camaw, but will try aspects of amaw, like a day with no moon cheese, or limit cheese altogether which could lead me to getting rid of cheese in my daily menu.
I plan to apply the same concept to coffee & try it every now & then with little to no cream since I definitely don't want to give up my coffee, but am a little too attached to the cream.

I also wanted to add that my first time doing AMAW, I had misunderstood (thought all drinks we normally used were fine) and used cream in my coffee the whole time!! I didn't lie about it and no one corrected me -- so technically I did CMAW without realizing it. And I won the Bacon Crown that go.
I also wanted to add that not once did I call you a failure nor did I suggest the word -- in fact, I quoted the word in my response to you, because you had used it.

Kat,
Sorry for the misunderstanding! I still want to continue to work the AMAW diet till the end. I'd rather try for that than fall back to my regular dairy dense diet. My choice to eat the offered breakfast this morning had nothing to do with will power, it just felt like the right thing to do. My forgetfulness on Monday was just that.

You're just shy of three months out. Maybe AMAW/CAMAW is just not in the cards for you yet. I'm in my third year and only decided now to try this. I put my energy in understanding just what/how to eat to lose at a pace/rate that worked for me. I had a system that was working- figured why mess with it.
Then, if you normally eat CAMAW as you say, I'd imagine the benefit of AMAW for you would only be marginal.
I would encourage you not to dress up conscious decisions as "oops". That's just annoying. Another WLS website is famous for those posts "I accidentally ate a slice of pizza, taco, blah blah." It a choice-- always.

PEACH - I totally agree - I'm doing it, even though I'm years out and "below goal", because the lbs are creeping up, and I'm finding myself slipping carbs in, and actually habitually eating LESS protein...because...I'm filling up on...carbs...DUH, to me !!!!
I chose CAMAW, intentionally, so I would not set myself up, to fail

We Can Do Hard Things
This is my first challenge. I'm a lot of years out. Someone posted..it was only 5 days but for me to eat critter all week is huge. I'm very excited and very measured and deliberate.
I had iced coffee with some milk today. We are twins in the coffee taking business
I'm glad you are here doing it. I've always been encouraged and supported by you. We can get this done.
Did you see the reasons I chose to eat cottage cheese at both breakfasts? The first day was sleepy forgetfulness meets habit. The second was a social construct around a 5 yr old. I guess neither seems like some horrible affront to this challenge. I do NOT mean to take this too lightly or act as if it's not a serious commitment for all of us.
This is the first year in a decade that I haven't celebrated Ramadan. Pushing myself to focus on meat seemed like a little baby version of the self discipline required to go without a drop of water or a taste of food all day(light) long for 30 days. Of course God doesn't suggest you just try being a Christian instead of Muslim if you mess up a fast, he just asks that you make up the day later in the year, or donate the equivalent cost of two meals to the poor.
(of course I'll be donating 180 meals to equate participating in Ramadan this year because 2.5 months out I knew there was NO WAY to safely go without a drop of water for the longest days of the year! Hopefully next year I'll have the physical capacity to take in enough water during the night to sustain me all day...)
I was being lazy and adding "oops" as a way to delineate that I was including in my menu a clear violation of AMAW because it had already happened and was a bad choice. I didn't intend to minimize or otherwise pretend that this was something other than my choice.

Good morning! I forgot how filling eating only dense meat is. I had little interest in food, though I still had to be hyper aware of my recent mindless hand to mouth BLT's... I'm proud of myself though and I'm feeling strong!!! So happy to be doing this, the timing was perfect!
I decided to not have coffee this week (I know, crazy!) because I want it with cream and really want to do AMAW. So, I am drinking tea instead. It's not the same and I miss my coffee, but it's only for 5 days and I can do this!
