I did OK with the first two cups, only sweetened with Splenda... but I was hungry earlier than usual, and the race was on... I went through the chicken leg, and the whole ounce of jerky before I left for lunch. I don't eat lunch until after I get back, so I just finished the fajita meat... that seems to be making me feel fuller, thank goodness...

But I'm counting down the time for my next cup of coffee... I hope I'm not too disappointed when I taste it

I think the cream I use in my coffee has just enough 'stuff' in it to help me feel fuller longer.

You and I seem to be on this experiment together -- so we will need to cheer each other on!! I just had my third cup of coffee -- and I am actually not doing so badly without my 1.5 T of whole milk in it. I was actually surprised at this last cup -- I really enjoyed it like normal.

For me, I've had a journey over the past 3 years --- I started with corn-syrup-laden-chemical-filled-crap-flavored-creamers, moved to "sugar-free" chemical filled flavored creamers, to half and half, to 3 T of whole milk, down to 1.5 T of whole milk. In there, I've tried almond milk, coconut milk, tears,... but I am hoping I am finally ready to drop the security blanket and stop whitening my coffee for good.

We will see.

I too have been a bit more hungry -- so I wonder, like you, if there was just enough in that splash of whole milk to keep me satiated longer? Or maybe, it's like any other addiction and my mind is playing with me -- trying to get me to justify using it?

Stay strong! We can do this -- if nothing else, for five days.

And it rings so true for me, as I'm slowly learning. I cannot live with huge cans of nuts in my house... even if they are on my 'approved' snack list (not for AMAW obviously) because I abuse them... I've found that a single serving package of nuts is fine, and I usually make them last two snacks...whipped cream cans... and ordering whipped cream on a coffee when I'm out is OK, but at home, I run through that can like the half-life is 2 hours long... Another abusive item that needs to stay out of my home for the most part (I never say never though )

I've gone from the old flavored creamers, oh so full of sugar and calories, through most of the same ones you've mentioned, down to half and half at work and Fairlife for my lattes at home... I'm lucky though, in that I do decaf and have for decades now, so even if I drink a lot of coffee, I don't have the caffeine to bug me out!

Yes, we both can do this! I'm about to go make my third cup (and I upped it to 12 ounces instead of my usual 10 ounces for some reason) right after I finish my after lunch water!

I don't see me cutting out my nighttime lattes any time soon, but maybe... JUST MAYBE... I'll hold off on buying more half and half for the office (after AMAW that is). My night time latte is my security blanket and it keeps me out of the pantry 95% of the time!

I might be wrong but I think black coffee is harder on my stomach. And since I still struggle with acid (post lap-band), I don't have it black too often. Also, since acid always mimics hunger for me, I associate black coffee with being hungry. Again...likely all in my head but, maybe?

NOW that I think about it -- maybe I do feel a bit more acid!! In fact, I think I may have an ulcer that developed this morning. ALL BECAUSE I HAVE FORSAKEN MILK!!!!

Damn it. I just want some milk in my coffee.

In all seriousness, my tummy does feel a bit more acidic...

I was a black coffee drinker pre-op but now I add milk because I do feel that it's easier on my stomach. Could be in my head. But I also only have 1 coffee a day and sometimes no coffee so I'm okay with that. That's since surgery. Pre-surgery I drank A LOT of coffee.

Can I ask how you did up that menu board? I want to copy that!!!
