Happy June 1st! June already!! Year is half way done, wow times flies. Its sunny here but cold right now, the temp at 6am is 9C (48F), hello Mother Nature its called Summer!

QOTD: Finish this sentence "When I was at my highest weight I would never..." So there are a million ways for me to answer this but I will just give you a few: When I was at my highest weight I would never wear horizontal stripes (I was big I didn't need "help" with the optical illusion of being bigger!), I would never run to catch a train, I would never have joined a gym, become a runner or hiked my dogs. I would never wear high heels, I would never volunteer for projects at work for fear there would be a lot of walking or standing. I would never have imagined the healthy life I could live post WLS. Now your turn!!

3.7 yrs post op RNY / 126.6 lbs / maintenance food

B: decaf coffee with vanilla premier protein + Miralax!

L: tuna/peppers/balsamic dressing

S: 2 babybel

D: 3 slices of deli turkey breast + swiss cheese roll ups + honey mustard

S: skyr yogurt + SF jam + bran buds

Morning gang!

last night helping my sister and brother in law pack was fun. Tonight I'll go help clean amd schlep boxes if there are any left. They ordered pizza and for me, a delicious giant salad with chicken. Very thoughtful. She sent me home with it, so I'll be eating it for days hahha.

qotd: I would never have had the energy to work all day, and pack up a house at night, and be ready to do it all over again the next day. No aches, no pain. Blows my mind still.

Menu:

B: premiere protein

L: leftover salad (bit of lettuce, beets, almonds, roast chicken )

S: finishing the cream cheese, cucumber and everything spice.

D: depends on timing of the move tonight!

have a great day everyone!

Good morning menu folks! I hope that you are all well and enjoying this June 1st day.

This is our week off from water aerobics class, and I am certainly missing getting to the pool. I'd like to go anyway and just do laps for a while, but we'll see.

QOTD: I never went outside the building for lunch because it meant extra walking. Now I choose to walk long walks most days but without the lunch motivation.

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, turkey sausage patty

Snack: Ice Tea protein shake

Lunch: chicken with broccoli (I'm taking a coworker out for lunch and we're going to a Chinese restaurant)

Snack: turkey breast

Dinner: salmon

Exercise: several short walks and maybe some pool time.

I am up a few pounds so I will try to be better about posting here for accountability

QOTD: When I was at my highest weight I would never have looked for my lost love. He loved me no matter what my size was, but I couldn't see it. I did not love myself so I was not ready to let anyone love me at my highest weight. We were apart for 15 years and now back together for 8 years. We have had our ups and downs (lots of downs in the beginning), but his stroke 2 years ago solidified our relationship. We both appreciate life and each other more now.

8.7 years post-RNY- 144 pounds (195 pounds lost)- I need to lose 4 pounds

Goals: under 1500 calories; at least 17,000 steps; 10 glasses of water; all vitamins; 7 hours of sleep

I hope everyone has a great day!!

Wow Laura. 17,000 steps. That's fantastic. I've been content to achieve 10,000 but you have inspired me.

Thanks!! I keep my official fitbit goal at 10,000 because that's what the American Heart Association recommends for good heart health. In the 2 years I've had my fitbit, my overall average is about 14,000 a day.

My true goal is at least 16,667 steps a day so that I wake up with a 7-day step total over 100,000. I am under that right now because the end of the school year kicked my butt, but I will wake up with over 100k in a few days

I'll stop rambling. I love my fitbit!! lol

I can relate Karen, I hated to be in photos, no one understood. I guess if you are not overweight you do not consider what it feels like to see ourselves in photos.

Everyone else in my family is normal weight so I always stuck out in photos as the obese one. I was always shocked when I would see myself in a photo because I didn't realize quite how fat I was until I would see it in the pictures.
