I have surgery on Friday morning, so I am currently half way through my second last day of opti - only 6 more shakes to go

Problem is, I am SO tired!!! I am normally someone who tires easily, but this is over the top. Anyone else experience a loss of energy near the end of their time on optifast?

Can't shed any light on Optifast but losing big time weight is a tiring affair. I'm a newbie at 10 weeks postoperative and I am just wasted by the end of my day.

I was exhausted the day or two before surgery. Likely a bit of a combination of lack of sleep and maintaining the day-to-day routine while cutting calories down to the 900 that Opti does. That alone will drop your energy level and tire you out quickly.

Post-op I was pretty tired for the first few weeks. Walking around the main level of the house or going from the car to the house was enough to make me sit down for a rest.

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

In the "recent past" I had the same high weight as you (up to 212) vs a 250 ish back in 2003. I didn't have to use the OptiFast as my liver was already small enough, but let me tell you, at 9 weeks out I'm high energy most of the day but once I run down... I'm OUT. No late nights, no desire to do anything after nine pm. I just want to sleeeeep!

hmmm, I wonder when the 'more energy' people talk about after having the surgery begins.

Its good that you have energy in the day, but 9pm is pretty early to be shutting it down. I'm usually still out at my kids activities at that time.

I understand that surgery takes time to recover from, but I wonder at what point our bodies are ok with having the smaller amount of calories in a day.
