Congratulations! I see now why you want to encourage your Mom, you have had great success. BMI is generic if you can go for a Bodyfat Dexascan (not a bone density one) That will give you a very accurate measure of bodyfat. I used a commercial one called Dexafit, but some universities that have exercise physiology programs and such have them cheaper.
You may not have 10lbs to lose, and what you are looking at is excess skin. So hard to tell when you have been MO. Our bodies just aren't the same...
