Hahaha! My neighbours have been pretty great. I teach a couple of young kids (minions in my drum army) and they don't even know I'm doing it. I've got mutes on my kit all around, which are like rubber mousepad-type things that cover the cymbals and drums. I can play all night and not disturb anyone. Comes in handy!

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

Happy Friday. I don't know if I can make it to 5:00 today. I'm sooo tired. I have the long weekend, and I think I'm going to take it. I usually treat holiday mondays as regular work days, but I've been really tired and really need the break. I brought cookies in for my assistnt and they're currently living in my office. They call my office the willpower office, since I can have the open box of cookies here and don't touch them. Today I may touch them.

DQOTD - I'm like Arun. Mosquitoes LOVE me. I have to use repellent or i end up with big red welts that itch so bad sometimes I think the only way to stop the itch is to cut my arm or leg off (just kidding).

Here's my plan:

B: 1 HB egg, 1.5 oz ham and a string cheese

S: Skinny latte

L: Chicken, 6 pea pods and cheese

S?

D: I think BBQ

The story behind my picture: On wednesday I get a call from the attorney in the next office. He asks if I have any carrots or lettuce without dressing and a box, because there's a bunny sitting on the landing of the fourth floor of our parking structure. We have no idea how the bunny got there. I take him a bowl of lettuce and a box for operation bunny rescue. As soon as I get close enough to give the bunny the lettuce, it bolted away straight into the parking structure (which is probably better than over the 4th floor landing) I'm hoping he hopped his way to the bottom floor and out the back of our building where he could make it back to the hills. If not, I'm a bunny killer with bad rescue skills.

He was an adorable bunny. I hope I didn't cause his death.

Morning Menu Gang!

So last night I had a whirlwind of a night! My car ended up breaking down on me about 30 minutes South of town... I limped it into the city, the whole time Hubs is driving from our house, 30 minutes North of the city, to come to my rescue. It finally went kaput in the middle of an intersection (of course), but luckily two very nice guys pushed me over out of the way. Hubs got there a few minutes later and we literally pulled it with a tow-rope another couple of miles to a friend's house so I could call the tow company this morning. (Dealership we use is another 30 minutes North!). So anyway... last night I came in the house, tired, not properly nourished (had a P3 from the gas station for dinner), and stressed. I immediately started looking in the fridge and cabinets, really WANTING something to eat... I knew it was a WANT versus truly being hungry because the protein things like cheese and chicken didn't look appealing. I commenced to opening the loaf of cinnamon bread on the counter, and very methodically toasted it to my liking, and literally SMOTHERED it in butter. I ate it, every bite, with a smile on my face the whole time. Bread has sat on our counter, of all varieties, for over a year now. It's NEVER been something I've been so drawn to that I couldn't' resist, and since before my surgery, I've not had more than a bite or two of any bread product at a sitting... but last night, damnit, I had it, and I knew I was eating it. And folks, I enjoyed every bite.

No beating myself up. I'm over a year out. I've reached a very good goal, and am on my way to attaining my stretch goal. But what I want to stress is... STAY AWAY while the going is good... while you're stamina is up from watching the scale go down... while you're in the honeymoon phase. Because, it just gets harder, and if you're going to give into the demons like I did last night... try to wait until you're where you want to be!

New day... new start... and probably a new transmission... sigh.

QOTD: I think it depends on the locality of the mosquitoes... the ones here in OK don't bite me like they bite my husband... but the ones in Georgia used to follow me around with 'to'go' bags for extra meals later! It was awful! LOL

B: 2 cups decaf with half and half

B2: meaty ricotta bake 3.5 ounces

S: 1 ounce beef jerky

D: Not sure what's going on yet

S: My beloved Fairlife latte

My car's ride on the ambulance to the doctor's office this morning... sniff

So sorry for the car troubles. As for the bread, there are alot of worse things that you could have eaten and I think that giving yourself a break is a good thing. Today is a new day!

Good afternoon Daisy2,

Let's see, yesterday went mostly as planned except I was making this big Sichuan-style shrimp stir fry at my husband's house for our regular Thursday night dinner party. Now that I'm living/working about 3 hours away, it's really difficult to get the shopping done, and get cooking at a decent time. I purchased pre-cooked shrimp thinking that would make things faster but it didn't. The shrimp were still mostly frozen and full of water so even though I squeezed them in toweling before adding them to the hot wok it didn't really help. Dinner wasn't served until almost 9pm and by then I'd snacked on some red bell pepper and hummus, which bumped my carbs up over 33g. So much for keeping my carbs under 25g :( I stay up in the area from Thursday night through Sunday so the drive "home" was only 30 minutes but I'm dragging today.

QOTD- I'm a mosquito magnet! I've learned to incorporate fans into my outdoor life, as a little moving air does wonders to keep them out of the area. I'm actually going to frame a beam over my sister's deck so I can mount a ceiling fan over it to help with mosquitos this summer ;) Here in Ohio we have a huge tick problem so if I'm out in the woods and wilds, I'm generally doused in DEET.
