What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Hi all
it has rained everyday here for 4 days straight and it is so wet and muddy. We are leaving tomm for camping till monday then to the beach for next week. I will sporadically be on next week but really just plan on relaxing as much as possible!
QOTD: I wear glasses because I'm blind as a bat and never wear sunglasses. When I did wear them (during contacts) I had a cute pair of ellen tracy I liked. They were brown tortoise shell type cat eye. I suppose I could get my prescription in a pair but I am not that high maintenance and I hate those glasses that turn into sunglasses. I'm forgetful and would never remember anyway. I don't squint in the sun.
I made some disgusting 'seed bread' last night which basically means I baked a loaf of bread for the chickens outside. It had egg whites, 2 yolks, psyllium husk, flax seed, caraway seed, pumpkin seeds and baking soda and cream of tarter. I think my egg whites didn't stabilze with the cream of tarter. or I added the cream of tarter to late? I dont know but it was gross and I kept trying to like it but it wasn't happening. I also made pork rind tortillas last night for taco dinner. They actually taste awesome BUT were hard to get thin enough in the shape of tortilla so I ended up making 1/2 the batter into a corn bread type skillet for the rest. I will make these again but will thin out the batter much much more. Additionally, the calories are fairly high on these due to the pork rinds about 75 each and lets be honest who stops at 1 plus you have to consider your meat calories in conjunction with this. If im going to eat an extra 75 calories it might be a piece or two of darn dark chocolate instead or something else
Food for today:
B: leftover something /coffee
L: leftover something else (gizzard/taco meat)
D: not sure just yet something easy
17 months post op/weight 121.6 today
Those are some pampered chickens if you're baking them bread.
What kind of sandwiches do they prefer?

hahaha- they usually eat John's leftover bread and he usually gets white bread. but man they loved the little seeds in that bread crappy crappy bread I made last night.
i wont feed it that often to them.
yes i suppose they are spoiled but I don't like throwing away food and this way we are feeding them instead!
Oh, it's much better than throwing it away. Probably makes better tasting chickens too. But be careful you don't give them diabetes.

LOL on the diabetic chickens... but in all honesty, bread isn't good for them... that being said, I equate it to potato chips... it's like a snack.
But your seeded bread, I bet, is much healthier for them!
I can't throw away leftovers either... they get it all, and last night they had their first bits of bacon... they would grab it and run, and all the other chickens would chase the one with the bacon.
Full disclosure... the bacon had been on top of a head of cabbage my brother in law grilled for Mother's Day, and it never quite all got eaten. There is RARELY leftover bacon in my house.

Good morning everyone!
I'm groggy this morning, but I finally have my cup of coffee in front of me and I'm feeling a little more awake. Our cats decided 4:30am was the perfect time to wrestle on the bed complete with yowling...I fell back asleep but it definitely took it's toll. Yesterday was a really good day...my son's class had a little end-of-the-year party to celebrate the kids that are moving on to kindergarten next year. All the moms brought food, and I got some balloons and pinwheels for the kids...it was a blast. My son's teacher surprised me with some wonderful cap-and-gown photos they did as a surprise. All week long my son has been saying 'mommy there's a surprise for you at school but I can't tell you about it!' Seriously though...look, I cried when I opened them....
Mouth is still sore as all get out, thanks for the sympathy yesterday guys...I wish I'd gotten this done as a child, the technology is better now but adult teeth are stubborn and ouchy I'm living on protein shakes and loads of ice-water because it helps my tongue not feel so beat up. Hopefully it will ease up in a few days and I'll be able to chew again.
QOTD: I got lasik back in 2007 and LOVED that I could finally wear sunglasses...and like JB I love the ones that are huge. Then earlier this year I started having trouble with my night vision, I went in and got checked and found out that my eyes have changed enough that I need to start wearing glasses again. The loss of being able to put sunglasses on anytime I felt like it was probably the worst part for me. I absolutely hate contacts (the feeling of them moving around on my eyeball is just gross to me) so I finally invested in a pair of prescription sunglasses and I LOVE them. I got them during a sale my vision place was having, so they are Coach brand and they were half off...AND our insurance reimbursed us for them so woohoo!
Countdown to RNY: 28 days
Menu: Nothing exciting, coffee and protein shakes and water until my mouth is better
Exercise: Lifting today - we had to cancel yesterday due to a tornado watch/warnings in our area so we'll pick up today where we left off.
Have a great day guys!
