Those were my fears exactly!
When I had my band, within a day I was literally STARVING! Since having my revision to RNY I literally am not hungry at all. I have no interest. I literally just try to get in my liquids right now and follow the plan, and it hasn't been difficult. I can't wait to have soft foods but it's more in my head than anything. It's not a physical hunger.
I was weighed in at the clinic on May 2 at 235.5 and this morning I was 220lbs.
My recovery was a bit difficult. I woke up in a lot of pain and my BP and heart rate continued to rise. They did so many tests and determined it was due to pain. But by day 3 I felt so much better! I am taking it slow and moving around and just learning this new lifestyle. No regrets at all.
Fromfattohealthy,
Are you back to work? When were you able to return to work? Do you think that you were in pain because of the gas/air trapped inside? I remember when I had the lap band surgery... the first thing I felt was terrible pain in my shoulder. LOL... It felt like someone had broken by collar bone, seriously. Nothing else hurt, just my darn collar bone area. The nurses said it was gas/air trying to escape. We put hot and cold compresses on it. I was up and walking in no time.. but that darn shoulder pain was crazy. I was a little sore in the stomach area, but nothing like my other abdominal surgeries.
How exciting that you are down 15.5 lbs!!! WOWSA! Keep up the good work and heal well. Keep sharing your experiences!

Revision Lap Band to RNY Approved 5/10/17 Surgery Date 6/6/2017
My pain was actually all in the abdomin. It felt like I had done a million sit-ups.
He removed a lot of scar tissue, and I had pain where my port used to me. I remember that shoulder pain with my band, I actually haven't experienced that once! Thank goodness! That was terrible.
I took 4 weeks of work. I could go back sooner, but I want to give myself time to adapt to the new way of living (and eating). I still tired easily, so I think the 4 weeks is a good thing.
