Congrats on the run!! I have major problems pacing myself as well, which is why I tend to do most of my runs on the treadmill.

I am glad you are back, and hope you stay around longer this time. I hope the new job is going great!

Be well

Happy Monday! I spent some time in the kitchen yesterday, so I'm prepared for this week, everything is even in little containers. I cooked some ribs in the crock pot, boiled eggs, made delicious orange fluff, made ricotta bake (added some chopped up TJ chicken sausage), made bacon, egg and cheese tartlets.

Being 8 years out, I don't do snacks so much. I still have to work to get my liquids in.

I always have 8oz milk and protein powder in the am

I've taken the same bariatric advantage vitamins, and my labs have always been good.

I don't really count the calories anymore. I feel like I'm kind of lazy compared to you all. I do it by portion size, and it's working as long as I eat correctly.

I gained weight over the past few months by grazing, and bad eating. eclairs, caramel corn, pizza, cookies. Yes, I had horrible gas, and my dumping involved shaking and dizziness, unpleasant but didn't stop me. See, when you are years out from surgery, you can go back to what you used to do. It starts small.

greens have always been hard for me to digest post-surgery, so salads are few and far between. I'd rather eat a sliced tomato, or cucumber any day.

so today:

8 oz milk with 1/2 scoop van protein powder and 1 scoop click

lunch

2 cheese tartlets

ricotta bake

dinner

sliced tomato salad

pork rib meat

polenta.

have a good day, all!

betty

Good morning guys!

I've been MIA lately, bad bad kelsey. I've had a lot going on and the stress and anxiety monster started creeping in. Lucky for me I've got a really great support system here and I'm getting back to an even keel...but it's been a roller coaster with pretty much everything, eating (too much), sleeping (not enough), life (why aren't there enough hours in the day to do ALL THE THINGS?!).

Anyways...my weekend was actually really awesome. On Saturday we rejoined the ymca, this time my husband joined with me and we're working out together. This is huge...both of us working towards being healthier. Our son LOVES the Y so he was over the moon excited. He gets to play in the game room while we exercise so it's a win-win...also they have an awesome pool. Sunday I tagged along to work with my husband and used the time to work on homework, just sketch practice but it was a nice quiet place to concentrate on what I was doing. Afterwards we went to the Y, he's teaching me how to properly lift weights....something I've really been wanting to learn but haven't yet. I did squats, bench-presses, and rows yesterday....and I'm definitely sore, but not in a bad way, more in a 'hey you used muscles you've been ignoring' way.

Here's a picture of my little cheese-ball while we were there Saturday....sorry if it's huge, for some reason it's not letting me resize it

QOTD: Our lawn is strange....the front is broken up into two parts, plus there's a path you have to cut around and landscaping, and our backyard has no grass at all, it's mulched and landscaped. The previous owners were WAY into gardening and I am learning that while I enjoy plants and flowers, I'm not THAT invested in it ! We have a company that comes out and does our landscaping and mows the front....they do the edging and blowing and as my husband puts it 'they do a better job than I ever could'. I grew up on a farm though, and my parents have a BIG tractor with a mowing deck attached, that is fun to drive!

Menu:

B: Coffee w/FF 1/2 and 1/2 and a splash of SF creamer, Fage 0% Greek Yogurt w/fresh strawberries

S: Sargento Balanced Break

L: Deli Meat w/Cream Cheese rolled

S: TBD

D: Leftover Steak, Broccoli

E: Walking at the Y with the hubby tonight, woohoo indoor track with a/c, I'll take it!
Countdown to RNY: 31 days!

Have a great day guys!

Thanks! I'm really enjoying being able to share gym time with my hubby...even though yesterday's walking resulted in blisters, oops!

planning to stick around this time, I did a lot of lurking and not posting since my band was removed in March...so I was kinda sorta here, but posting daily is good for me and I need to keep it up!

Good morning everyone!

We're wrapping up our long weekend with a bunch of yard work that we couldn't get to in the rain yesterday and meeting up with my sister and BIL. After I post I'll be pulling assorted meat products out of the freezer so they can be bbq'd up for dinner and lunches this week.

QOTD I've worked in the landscape industry for over 20 years now, more involved in construction than maintenance but I've done both. I spend so much time working outside that I keep my own property very simple, which is easily done considering the size of my lot and the amount of deck, pool and shed that exist in the backyard. A few years ago after my divorce (when I was the only one here to maintain things) I reduced the size of my front gardens and completely eliminated my back garden. Now I keep all my annual plantings confined to planters on the front and back decks which is where they're seen the best anyway.

6 months post op yesterday

B- coffee w/ 1/2 chocolate premier

L- meeting for lunch, destination unknown

D- pork tenderloin

S- coffees w/ remaining premier, there's some skyr yogurt in the fridge I should probably eat

Have a great Monday guys!

Good morning all,

Had a very productive weekend. House got cleaned, invited some friends over for dinner last night, and got started on a project for school even though term doesn't officially start until 06/01. This morning is gray and drizzly though so I just want to go back to bed. This weather always makes me achy.

QOTD: I have a gas powered walk behind mower. It does what needs doing, but I am not very dedicated to lawn works. I figure as long as I'm not getting notices from my HOA then I'm good.

Menu:

B: Coffee w/ syntrax protein and carbmaster black forest cake yogurt.

L: Left over brisket, baked beans, and broccoli salad

D: shrimp and more broccoli salad

S: muscle milk light and probably a protein fudgecicle (sp?) for dessert tonight

Love your lunch idea, I so miss baked beans, I can't eat them post op, too much sugar and I die!

Are your fudge sicles just a protein shake you froze up?

Great job on keeping on coming here and posting your food pre op, job well done!
