Good morning Menu Crew! How is everyone? How was your weekend? Mine was awesome! And I am off today so taking the dogs for a hike to the provincial park near by, doing some laundry and doing lots of bbqing today for meal prep for the week.
QOTD: Lawnmowers... gas powered, electric or push mower? And I think a lot of you have huge yards so do you have the big riding lawnmowers? I had a gas powered lawnmower, its super easy to start and I cut the grass in our house. Our lawn is tiny and its easy to cut. I can use a trimmer but its not my strong point, grass cutting though I could give lessons to Golf courses & Baseball stadiums about lines and the way the grass lays, yup I am a weirdo LOL

10+ years post op, living & loving life!
My weekend was meh, still in the hospital unfortunately. They won't discharge me without a BM and so far no luck. One of the docs came in this morning and said the sounds coming from my belly are good, he said optimistic for tomorrow.
I'm the lawn maintenance person in my family as well. My husband isn't really a "get in the yard and get dirty" kinda guy. I have electric lawn mower and weedeater. Also have a few cordless tools for the yard, trimmer and branch cutters and such. Front yard isn't too big and backyard is mostly concrete deck and swimming pool, so not much for grass cutting back there. Just a couple of small areas. I'm usually more concerned with the shrubs and trees being well trimmed. I don't care for overgrowth.
Todays menu remains clear liquids. Beginning day three and getting used to feeling empty but I sure miss steak and bacon. I know it's for healing, but goodness I'd love to eat some protein today.
Happy Monday, make it great!

Hope you feel better soon and are home in your own bed asap!
Good Monday morning menu folks! It's raining like mad here and sounds like it will be most of the day. That means that it won't lend itself to walking outside. I am working from home so I plan to go to the gym and ride the bikes or walk on the treadmill. I may opt for swimming depending on what time I go. Something indoors though. I'm glad that I got in 2 long walks over the weekend to cover my wanderlust!
QOTD: lawn guys...they have all kinds of specialized equipment and it means that I don't have to be outside sneezing from the newly cut grass!
Breakfast: egg white, LF Mexican cheese
Snack: Apple Ecstasy protein shake
Lunch: TJ's turkey breast
Snack: cottage cheese
Dinner: TJ's salmon burger
Exercise: something at the gym, probably the bikes for 30 minutes

Years ago we had an awesome lawn guy, ran his own family business and the yard always looked great. Couple years ago he handed the business over to his son who would constantly ride a huge mower in the back yard. My back yard is full of pool, so there's not much room to drive that thing around. He would always face the trimmings into the pool and leave the grass for me to skim out. Unfortunately, I would spend all weekend on the pool and he would always show up on Monday mornings. Huge waste of expensive chemicals! I hated letting him go, but I couldn't keep up and the costs were getting out of hand.
Sometimes I miss having lawn guys, but my peace of mind is more valuable to me.
