I overdosed on sugar free popsicles. Oy vegh!
Second day on liquids following laser gum surgery. Five months out of RNY on the 22nd of this month. No appetite, but I need to get in liquids. Had my share of protein shakes, tea, water, and ice coffee today, but the sugar free devils in the freezer were calling my name. They are still sickly sweet to me, just like the day after my RNY. I swished my mouth with sal****er as per instructions. That stopped my binge. My tongue is clown red now. Took a pain pill as I'm a bit sore. I couldn't use my CPAP last night and not tonight either as it puts too much pressure on my lower gum. I slept well last night and didn't feel tired at all today. The remaining popsicles will be in the trash tomorrow. I think I ate about ten. I know they have carbs. My blood sugar is fine. But they are a trigger for me.
In my area today there were three community festivals I wanted to attend. A rib burn-off and an Asian festival, plus a flashback to the 60s, Hessler Street Fair. I would have gone if it wasn't for the laser surgery. But, I really couldn't eat anything. But, that's OK. I'm staying on my plan and getting healthy.

I'm pretty sure the active ingredient in sugar free popsicles is crack cocaine.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
I never made it to any festival. We were hit by mass quantity rain showers. So I ended up at Starbucks and then Barnes and Noble. I dropped two pounds since last weigh in on Thursday. I'm happy, but sore.

I had oral surgery for a tooth implant and cadiver bone implant in 2016. I was on liquids for Thanksgiving and for a "girls" 3 day Christmas shopping trip. I hurt so bad and had those stitches in my upper jaw and I didn't mind not eating solid food. I had to do this for 3 weeks - unfortunately the few pounds I lost came back when I started eating solid food.
There are days when my little pouch is grouchy and liquids and yogurt consistency are all I can manage. ( I'm 8+ years out from my RNY) It is what it is! I am so blessed to live in a country where I have so many choices and the means to afford them.
Best wishes,
Penny
