What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Good Morning Daisy and Menu family!
So sorry about your migraine, Daisy. I sure hope it gets better soon.
QOTD: I don't like long car trips so usually the longest road trips I've taken were 8 hour trips to Colorado to visit my mom when she was still alive. However my dad once drove me from Nebraska to Los Angeles, CA. I think he thought it would be a great bonding experience for us, but the trip was kind of a nightmare. He got a sick cold and was miserable and disgustingly gross and I had just found out I was pregnant and was terribly morning sick. But since the father was not on board about the baby I didn't want to tell my dad I was going to be an unwed mother and spoil our trip. So I told him I was "car sick".
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
L: beef pot roast meal
D: taco meat, cheese, sour cream, 1/2 flour tortilla
S: light & fit Greek yogurt
Exercise: Walking Blossom around the subdivision
Have a great day everyone!

Sorry about the migraine! I haven't had one since surgery, and I'm REALLLLLY hoping I never do, because my 'go-to' was 800 mg of ibuprofen. I get ocular migraines, and when the lights start, if I take that soon enough, I only need to go take a nap and I'm ok (aside from a little nauseous)... Now, I'll have to suffer the intense headache that comes after the lights start. Hopefully you'll get through it quickly!
Busy morning today! But I'm doing well. Been 'in the groove' with my eating, and feeling good about it! Hit a new low today of 142.8. I'm really ready to see 139! Funny... once I stopped eating those 'little bites' of things (oh, and my whipped cream), the weight started coming off again... It's funny to me. I can convince myself that those little bites are OK, because you know, it's just a bite... and when the weight stops falling (even in my last 10-pound mode), I can rationalize it in my head so well. So yes, my weight stalled the most, directly after my first HRT pellet was injected. The Doc told me that I could see a weight gain of 4-5 lbs because of the HRT, but that it was temporary... so Is that it? Or was it that after the shot, my BRAIN had permission (and probably a little help from the testosterone I was given) to want more food? So, in reality maybe I wasn't one of the people that might gain 4-5 lbs, maybe it was just my brain being fooled with information it didn't need to hear...
I think it's because I got complacent, comfortable, and started having more bites of things... and lookie there, I stop it, and I start losing again! Even in the last 10-pound stage.
Moral of the story? Your brain f&@ks with you... if you're not losing (not a stall early out), it's because of what you're eating... almost all of the time.... and as you get smaller, you need less calories (now that really sucks if you think about it)... pay attention to the little bites, people!
QOTD: I've driven from Houston to Palm Desert, CA (1430 miles) with my first fiance to take his mom stuff, we drove back too. I've also packed up a Uhaul with my bestie, put my old Bronco II on a trailer behind it and trekked up to Chicago from Houston (1082 miles). I love long road trips!
Weight this morning 142.8
B: decaf coffee 20 ounces with half and half
B2: Steak 3.5 ounces
L: Chicken crack with carrots and celery
S: Cheese stick and 4 baby carrots/ .5 ounces of beef jerky
D: Not entirely sure... big storms headed our way may interrupt things.
S: Hopefully storms will be through and I can make my Fairlife Latte!

I get the same sort of migraines you described. 800 mg of Advil was my savior if taken in time. No more and they suck big time now, boo ;(

I feel your pain on that one I also get ocular migraines. Aside from my niece you're the first person I have " known" that has them as well. First time I had one I rushed myself to the ER I was so petrified! Haven't had one since my surgery!
Also the little bites.... such great advice! I just learned that myself these last two weeks!!

Hi Daisy and everyone! Happy almost Friday. I am sorry to hear about your headache :( I also used to take Advil for headaches - I have much fewer now that I am a healthy weight and no longer smoking, but I do take Sudafed when I have sinus issues...
Last night I went to this incredible restaurant with friends and had a SUPER small pouch night! It's been a while since my pouch felt small and figures it would happen in front of the most delicious food. I did have some spicy tuna poke and a few bites of chicken, however. They kept protesting that I shouldn't pay 1/3 of the bill but I was like, you guys, we shared everything! #WLSLife
I am at the 3.5 year mark and **** gets harder by the day when it comes to eating. Take advantage of your honeymoon period, folks!!! That's all I can say...
Time Since Surgery: 3.5 years
B: Leftover cajun chicken (my BF seriously thinks I am the weirdest person but I love savory things!), coffee with cream
L: Vidalia onion chicken patty on half of a bun, cucumber salad
D: Ground turkey taco meat, guacamole, mexican cheese, light sour cream, and a few chips
E: It's a billion degrees currently. So maybe the gym, maybe pure laziness. TBD.
Vitamin patches are on!
QOTD: When I was about 13, my parents decided to take our blended family of 5 kids aged 9-16 on a road trip from Detroit to Orlando! I listened to my new Skid Row tape in my Walkman on repeat for most of the 24 hours LOL. Then we all complained about the heat and only wanted to swim in the hotel pool 24/7. They really regretted planning that trip ha ha! But I do love reading about all of the menu posters adventures...sounds like some great memories were made!
