I'm officially 1 week out from surgery. And as of last night I've lost the 10+ lbs that I gained at the hospital Fluids.

I'm really struggling with water and I'm starting to feel the effects of dehydrataion. So I really want to give it my all today. At my appointment with Dr. yesterday he said to give it another week, then he will prescribe Zofran for the nausea if it hasn't gotten better.

QOTD: I'm cheap so I don't get my nails done often. But I'm hoping to treat myself with a pedi next week if I can afford it. Right now my feet look like caveman toes!

1 week post-op/270 lbs

M1: 1/4 c of fairlife milk

M2: 1/4 c of chicken broth

M3: try a protein shake (not sure how much I can handle)

M4: sf Popsicle

I'm going to progress slowly, I think, so I can see what sits well and what doesn't. I don't want to go crazy too fast.

Cal: 367 P:48 Carb:19

E: Today's my first day doing "normal" things like getting my car fixed and shopping. I think that will Tucker me out.

V: 1st day on Vits! Starting off slow with just a multi to see how it sits.

Good morning!

Last night I ended up skipping the protein powder cottage cheese I'd planned for dinner, and having sprouted grain crackers with hummus. It was a social choice, as I was hanging with my sister and her wife for a beautiful hour of child free chill time Unfortunately this meant that I once again missed my protein mark. I also skipped my afternoon tuna packet which I will eat today no matter how uninterested I am in food!

I was supper happy to get a full hour of walking in with my sister's young dog. It's hard to be a high energy dog when you're living in a home with toddlers. He LOVES me staying with them during the week because I actually SEE him, talk to him, let him sleep on my bed at night and we have been getting at least one BIG walk in a week. My sister runs with him a few times a week and the little kids love on him, but generally he's the "middle child" of the house. Last night Porter and I explored the neighborhood, saw many "kitty-squirrels" a few actual squirrels, and one of those exotic French squirrels (skunk). It was a good walk! I'm also getting a better feel for what is available in the the area as far as housing goes. I plan to find my own place by September.

QOTD- I'm with you Daisydoo02, I like to get bright red toe nails!

7 Wks post RNY/ 183ish / Weight loss diet

B- 1/2 cup steel cut oats with 1/4 scoop protein powder

MS- Coffee with Cream

L- Greek Yogurt

AS- Tuna packet

D- Pan roasted Sea Scallops and Prawn with Asparagus

ES - Asparagus

Total Calories 681 Carbs 66 Protein 77

I'll walk during the day today, but I probably won't get to walk the dog tonight as it's my turn to make dinner, then I'm baby sitting tonight so my sister and her wife can get out of the house for an hour or so. My sister is a stay at home mom, her wife is an elementary school teacher, so between the two of them, a few minutes without children is a welcome break! I might be able to sneak in a little Pokemon hunting before the kids bedtime, but that in just easy walking so not really exercise.

Little dollops of broccoli cheese deliciousness! We tried them for the first time a couple of nights ago and went out the next day and bought 3 more bags for the freezer.

Hello everyone! I did really well yesterday sticking to my "cut the carbs" commitment. I also tracked everything in MFP. I am striving to be mindful of the commitments I made to myself when I had WLS and honor those commitments.

I also was able to go on a small walk. Still working back to strength after the Achilles surgery. A long path to full recovery, but I am hopeful--progress every day, little baby progress.

Cheese is my go-to snack when I cut the carbs, so that means I am adding in a lot of fat. MFP says I am OK with that, calorie-wise, and here on OH we all believe that fat is OK, right?

End of school year anxiety around here. Lots of catch up work for my one son, who is charming and kind, and whose executive functioning is not great, and who has been sick a lot, and who is afraid to self-advocate with his teachers. :-)

We have had a gorgeous spring here. Warm, then cool, and back and forth--so the plants are really really happy. Many years lately, it has been cold, then really really hot, and the plants have kind of been in shock. I love this inbetween weather.

QOTD: The first time I got a pedicure, I was so uncomfortable. The idea of having someone kneeling at my feet, like a servant, working on my feet of all things--it was very hard for me. But I had been given a gift certificate. I liked the results, though, and realized it is like getting a haircut.

I go now about 2-3 times a year is all, during sandal weather. I like wearing polish on my toes, but my big toenails get really thick and yellow and hard to manage when I wear nail polish. They are happier not painted. Weird, I know. I prefer soft pinks, soft purples, beiges, nudes. Understated all the way.

BTW, I hate having my fingernails painted. HATE it. All-natural fingernails for me, always. Violin and writing require short nails.

My almost-13 son, recently, went about 6 weeks refusing to trim his thumb nails. They were getting long, like tools. He would cut the other nails, but not those. Finally I had to threaten punishment. They were just SO GROSS.

Today's eating:

B: scrambled egg with cheddar, avocado, and grape tomatoes

L: meatballs and brocolli (leftovers)

S: options--small amount of leftover steak, asparagus, boiled egg, swiss cheese

D: Fish with cabbage

Lots of herbal teas and crio bru, with unsweetened soy as a creamer

Goals: track in MFP, sit down to eat, make my list of NSV to look at regularly

Fat is good. It helps keep us regular. Way to go on getting back on track and making a list of NSVS. I have one that lives on my frig right beside my before picture. Both are great reminders to help keep me on track.

Today will be another busy day. I had a overly social evening last night and ate some bites that were definitely not planned (there were pretzels, crackers, and a very thin slice of lemon pie involved). Weight was up this morning to 128 from 125 from the extra salt and fats so I am looking forward to a low salt low fat day today to feel more myself by tomorrow.

Menu: B: 1 cup Fagi 0% Plain Greek yogurt with 1/3 cup homemade granola; L: Frozen meaty ricotta bake; D: 1/2 cup grilled chicken with 1/2 cup tomato sauce; S: Banana; ES: Chobani Simply 100 Crunch; Totals: Cal 1083; Protein 86; Carbs 97; Fat 54

Accountability: Too many 'social snacks' last night...ie visiting with friends and munching on things they had laid out (crackers, pretzels, watermelon) and deciding it 'would be rude' not try the lemon pie. I don't owe anyone to eat anything. I know this in my mind but last night I didn't do so good at putting that in action. Still no smoking though so that is awesome.

EDIT to add QOTD: I love getting my toes done when I can afford to. I get them done a few times a year. I usually get "I'm Not Really a Waitress" by Opi.
