What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
Good morning DD2. I'm back again today. I'm going to really try to get on and post everyday. It really helps me stay on track. Yesterdays food turned out really good. I didn't binge or eat anymore than I planned, except in the evening. And even then, when I did snack, it was half of a protein shake with a few strawberries in it that I split with my kids as a "milkshake" treat. It was about 100 calories for the part that I had, and it hit the spot.
I haven't been exercising lately. I really need to get back to walking, because my dog last night was a maniac and I really need to get him out of the house for a bit to try to burn off some energy. Hopefully I'll be able to do it tonight after work, but I don't know. I mentioned yesterday that my hubby started back to work, well today he is REALLY to work. Second day back and he's already gone on an overnight. So tonight will be just me and the kids. With hubby being gone, Bugsy will be alone from 7am until 3pm when my oldest gets home from school, so I fully expect him to need lots and lots of attention tonight. My plan is to get home and feed us all, then take my youngest and the puppy for a walk as far as I can get them to go. I really, really need to push getting a fence installed. We got a quote and it was really high, so I'm thinking that we'll do the install ourselves, but that takes planning and I just don't feel like I've had the time to get it done.
DD2QOTD: I'm really bad about my feet. I'm a barefoot kinda person, so during the summer I wear sandals a lot and when I'm able, I'm barefoot. I keep my feet clean, but otherwise, they don't get much attention. Obviously I clip my nails, but I rarely if ever get a pedicure and don't really even paint my nails. Though I've been looking at them and I think that I may break down and paint them this week so I don't feel funky wearing sandals to work.
The weather this morning is rainy and it's going to be HOT later, with 80% humidity. Welcome to Michigan, lol. It will be 84 by the time I get out of work, so DD2, you may be getting this weather tomorrow, since that is how it seems to work. Unless the heat gets pushed south of you, as sometimes happens.
21 months since surgery
B: 2 eggs, 2 ounces of turkey ham and 1/2 ounce of shredded cheddar. Coffee with SF coffeemate
L: Romaine salad with 4 ounces of turkey ham and some orange bell peppers. Bolthouse farms ranche dressing
D: Turkey burger with a slice of cheese, no bun.
S: Grapes and a 100 Calorie Greek Yogurt. I will likely have a snack this evening, but it will probably be another protein shake. I'm making them by blending ice with 8oz of Cashew Milk, 1 scoop of Quest Banana Milkshake powder, 4 strawberries and a small handful of blueberries. My youngest just loved it, and if we split it, then it's a great treat in the evening. It's in the totals.
Totals:
Calories 1009 Protein 92 Carbs 65 Fat 43
I'm not in maintenance, but if I can stick to the macros above, I KNOW I will lose weight.
Also, I want to mention that I just switched my medications up last week, and honestly I'm finding that the urge to binge is almost completely gone. I had been taking Prozac since September, and I felt like I was really out of control ever since then with my eating. I asked to switch for different reasons, and I started on Wellbutrin last week instead. A few things are starting to change since I switched my meds, and I am feeling really good about it.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Ooooooh, that dog/fence question! Who knew that getting a dog meant a $4000 fence?
We have been through the same concern! We don't have a fence--we used to, when our kids were little--went to all the expense of installation and upkeep--but a few years ago, it started to fall down because the company that did it put the posts in wrong and they all rotted at the ground. All the panels stayed strong--but the posts all broke. We took down the fence, and we liked it SO MUCH that we don't want to put it back. There is a large neighborhood common area park right behind our house, and then city parks behind that. So removing the fence makes our yard seem big and lovely.
So, the dog. When she really wants some outside time, we just use really long leads and hook them around a ree in the yard. She sniffs and runs around--not full speed running, but enjoying sniffing and all. We check on her every 10-15 minutes. If she gets caught, she barks at us and we untangle the lead.
We also have neighbors with an electric fence. A dog trainer we met with told me that the electric fences sometimes make dogs more aggressive, so we gave up on that idea.
Good luck with all you are trying to balance. It is so much. but you can do it!

I'm not even wanting a privacy fence. My yard is fenced on two sides, already, with chain link. I just need along the back and then up at the house. It's about 140 feet across the back and maybe 40 feet total at the front. I need 2 gates added, and the company that came out quoted nearly $4000.
My cousin owns his own home improvement company, and I think I'm going to ask him to come give me a quote.
$4k is about right for 200ish linear feet of chainmail. Honestly doing it yourself after renting/buying tools and all you'll probably cut a little over $1k off the price.
Something to consider...gun/hunt training a dog would cost about $500-$600 a month (here in TX YMMV) and typically takes about 3-4 months. That's way more training than your dog would need but I don't know what offsite obedience training costs :). You could end up spending 1/2 the money and end up with a dog that doesn't need a fence and isn't a maniac. OF course you would want to check out leash laws in your area first.

Muscle Milk was on sale at Costco so I'm gonna try one today. It's only 20gms of protein and 100 cals (so-called "light" version) but I need to wean myself off these damn shakes.
QOTD: Pedicures?....Ok I'm a dude so this one is not exactly in my wheelhouse but....I like pedicures. Manicures I could care less about but pedicures I like. But I think I liked them because cutting my toenails as an obese person was damn near impossible and probably a bit dangerous! Now I can trim my own toenails without cutting off my oxygen supply. I guess that's another NSV.
