What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
on 5/16/17 3:26 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Happy Tuesday menu crew! How is everyone? I am good! I did A LOT of exercise yesterday, two aerobics's classes called "Super Sculpt" there was about 8 million squats, 6 million lunges and 500 million biceps curls, everything on me hurts, then I went for a run with the dogs. but its a good hurt ya know what I mean?
QOTD: Let's talk pedicures! Do you do your own? Do you go to a salon regularly? Do you do the regular colour or do you go for the gel? What's your thing? And now that Summer is around the corner (well for me it still has not arrived) what is your go to colour for your toes? I tend to do my own on a regular basis, if we have a wedding to go to and I want it to look extra nice I go to the salon, and 99% of the time I get hot red! I rarely stray from red, but my next fav colour would be hot pink for my toes. And for our new male members here on the menu boards sorry... unless you get pedi's too then tell us about it!
I got a message last night from JB she is having an incredible time, said its beautiful there and so much to see & do! I am sure she will have amazing pic's for next week!

Good morning menu folks!
I got in a nice long walk yesterday but no pool time. The weather is headed into the 90s so walking outside might be difficult for me. I don't tolerate the heat very well usually, but we'll see how it is with less of me to carry around. Today is probably a short morning walk, a long lunchtime walk and deep water aerobics.
QOTD: not a pedi type gal
Breakfast: hard boiled egg, turkey bacon
Snack: Ice tea protein shake
Lunch: TJ's Balsamic chicken
Snack: turkey
Dinner: chicken breast
Exercise: walks, water aerobics

Your temp is in the 90's already! Jealous! its only going to a high of 58 today here! UGH! You will for sure notice a difference in your temp this year. When I got to my goal weight for the first two years I was FROZEN all the time, 365 days a year, now I am 3.6 yrs out and my temp has normalized but man its weird to be cold in the summer in your first year post op!
Morning!
whoa! You're a machine daisy!
Im on training today downtown and not in the office. The morning is mandatory, the afternoon is optional. I am so tempted to skip out, and play hooky for the afternoon.. it's also tulip fest in Ottawa, so I'll try to get some pics for Friday! It's going to be crazy boring. It's all about security clearances Zzzzz...
qotd: I badly need a proper pedi... I usually get 1 or two spa ones a year, and maintain it myself in between. Always bright hot colours, reds mostly.
I've been trying to talk my husband into one. I know he'd love it.
menu:
no idea.... protein shake this morning. The conference centre where the training is held is attached to a mall downtown so, there's tons of options. I'm sure I can find protein!
have a good one gang!

I have always wanted to do the tulip festival too! Jealous! Hope the training was not too boring!
Good morning Daisy and menu crew. I'm on the Go Train with my boy heading to Sick Kids hospital in Toronto for his 2nd endoscopy. He's being tested for celiac as well so hopefully we will get some answers for some of the issues he has been having. Hoping to maybe get to see Daisy too but we will see if that works out. In the afternoon I have my 3 month follow up (a month late) with the Nirse Practicioner. My dad is meeting me so he and Owen will just hang out while I do that.
QOTD: I always go to the salon for manis and pedis. I'm hopeless at putting on my own nail poli****'s really bad. And I always go for pale pink or French. I'm not adventurous with nail colours.
Menu: It's really up in the air. I feel like a lot of meat has been sticking lately. Not badly but enough to cause some discomfort. Chicken is the worst. I already had my protein shake so we will see what the rest of the day brings. But it will all be good choices.
Exercise- I think we will walk back to union later - I think Daisy said that's 3 kms. And I have my upper body Fix tonight.
Have a a great day everyone.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
on 5/16/17 7:50 am
My youngest son had several scopes--and a colonoscopy--for GI issues like Celiac, because he had chronic diarrhea since he was a baby. The first few scopes were when he was very little--about 4 or 5 years old. He also took a lot of different meds and we did a lot of different elimination diets. GI things can be hard! If you ever want to discuss or let off steam with a parent who has been there, feel free to PM me.
I hope everything goes well for you and your son today!
In our case, they ruled out celiac--which was a relief. On the other hand, he has undefined active colitis--no known cause--so that remains challenging. Although I had always sought out well-recommended doctors--and our son's case was actually presented at a medical conference!--we had trouble getting concrete answers, and some docs said some scary stuff. But eventually, we found a doctor *****ally helped us manage the symptoms and calm our worries, even though the underlying cause is still something we don't know.
I hope you get the answers you need.
xoxo

Thank you. He has eosophilic esophagitis which we knew and still has symptoms. However the scope did not go smoothly this morning. He has large adenoids and tongue so when they put the scope in his oxygen levels kept dropping. They were able to do the scope and biopsy though so that's the main thing. Now he has to have a sleep study done as well.
Good luck to your son.

Losing the regain! I got this!
Morning Daisy! I figured I'd post early before I get to work and that consumes me. I kind of wish I could run with my dog-- but she wants to sniff every blade of grass and that slows me down. This summer I have a goal to take an exercise class every Friday- and will go into work late or leave early to accomplish my goal.
Qotd: I'm doing my own nails and toes this summer to save $. I quit doing gel because removing it is rough in your natural nail. My go to color is hot pink- but I also love royal blue. I rarely do red for some reason. My favorite tool is my Ped egg- or as I call cheese grater for feet lol. I've been doing mine weekly.
so today I came down and noticed belated Mother's Day gifts. I got cards Sunday and was content with those. Kids have me gift cards and hubby bought me the Copper Chef pans. We were watching the infomercial and got caught up- and he owed me a new pan for one that his church scratched up horribly. (It's like they cooked in it using a screwdriver!) I'm gonna secretly check the kids account and make sure they didn't spend their $ on the gift card cards and put the $ back if they did. I love their kindness but I truly don't need anything. I'm taking my copper chef recipe books to work to read.
My weight is up again. Im starting to track my cycle because looking back I'm spiking like this monthly- and the only thing that makes sense it's my cycle causing these spikes. But I'm still gonna shake up my diet cause I'd rather be lower and not spike so high.
2years out, 197.5 today, next goal: 190.5
m1: Greek yogurt, berries granola 4 turkey sausage links
m2: 3oz lunch meat roll up
m3: meat sauce with mozerealla 6oz
m4: ground turkey with salsa and cheese
