Hi all! Thanks to those who sent me "run fast" vibes on Sunday. They worked and I was able to cut 11 minutes off my time! Sadly this morning I had to shove my feet (blister and all) into heels and hobble into court. Fun times. I was going to post a picture but my phone is not cooperating so I'll wait for photo Friday

DQOTD: I'm a soft sneezer and I usually sneeze in twos.

plan:

B: protein bar unless I can wait until after court then egg bites

L: roasted cauliflower with meat sauce and cheese

D: chicken breast and broccoli

S: latte, light and fit

E: my training plan calls for a recovery "walk to jog" so if the weather hold out that's what's on the plan

Good morning Daisy and everyone. My weekend was tough. Between my mom being in ICU for a week now with no end in sight, w/no official diagnosis and taking care of my dad I am exhausted. They are not sure if my moms issues are cardiac, pulmonary, Afib, or possible/pending stroke or all of the above. They still cannot run the tests needed due to her poor kidney function so they are taking it day by day.

Sometimes routine is the best thing or stress. I've really had to reevaluate how I deal with stress and not having food as my go to coping mechanism is strange. I almost feel left hanging and a bit lost. Lately, I've been looking to the gym - mostly swimming and staying busy w/my regular daily routine, tasks and chores to cope. They are helping quite a bit, especially when I just want to break down and do nothing.

QOTD - I think I sneeze normal/quiet I had a co-worker once that scared that crap out of me every time she sneezed which was often. I don't' think she had any idea (or maybe didn't care) how loud and ridiculously obnoxious it was. I was so glad she transferred out of my unit.

I wish you the best with your mom--I hope they can determine the source of her problems, and that you hang in there.

My mom was in the hospital for about 1.5 weeks 2 1/2 years ago. She also was in a situation where the docs could not really determine what was troubling her. It was such a stressful time, so I truly empathize with you. We ended up transferring her to a different hospital, where she received much better care. It was a scary time, but with a good outcome. Although they never did determine exactly what the issues were that led to her needing to be hospitalized, the many tests they ran led them to discover a couple of previously unknown issues, which they were able to correct or provide stabilizing treatment for. My mom is now 85 years old, and although she is definitely showing her age, she has new energy and sparkle, better than before!

I hope you can have a good outcome soon too.
