That was my first thought too! What right does your boss ever have to make comment on your health? The weather? Ok. Your health? F-off!

As an HR person, nothing irritates me more when staff come to me with things that they should have handled themselves. It's not truly an HR issue until she addresses it as unwanted/welcomed; then-- If it continues-- HR. The standard for harassment is 'severe and pervasive.' When you take part in it and and dont ike the outcome or other viewpoints that's a disagreement, not harassment.

My work day totally led me on this mini tirade.

True. I guess I always make the assumption that when people post something like this they HAVE tried to handle it themselves already.

I would not go to HR with this one because we don't have an HR and for two I don't feel like I would need to go there for this. I do disagree with you about harassment when she is making comments even when we are not speaking about it. I can be in the kitchen getting me something to drink or eat and she will make comments about what I'm eating/drinking is it health. I understand I should have not told her what I was doing now, but at the time when she was questioning me I really didn't think nothing about it. I would have never thought taking my vacation time and personal time that I earned would be questioned and when it was I gave her the answered her.

I am learning some things you need to say this is something that is not up for discussion.

People can be a pain in the Ass.

You don't have to explain to others why you are doing this. It is your decision. I still have people that give me ****

Just change the subject to something that they can talk about themselves.

Uggh... yes many times https://www.facebook.com/TheWorldAccordingtoEggface/posts/10 158435039605710 hope this read helps.

I agree with the above that it's really inappropriate for a boss to speak to an employee about their health decisions or offer comment. Document that... JIC.

That's exactly why I didn't tell anyone from my work or as a matter of fact o2 people besides the medical staff that know. I was very private and I'm happy about that.

Sure. Say, "Ok, fine. I'm taking the easy way out with major life changing surgery. I'm a fat lazy slob taking the easy way out. Are we done with this now? But do let me know when you would like to hash out your personal medical decisions." And walk away.
