FriYAY! We made it! And after 8 hours of work I'm on VACATION! Goodbye cold Boston, I am on my way to the land of sunshine and macaroons! I know its mean to post these but dammit, I have worked so hard to get to the point where I can indulge a little, and this is definitely on the menu next week!!!
QOTD: As I have been reviewing my resume and thinking about old jobs, I was musing about the two worst jobs I ever had. The first was working at a drive-through hotdog restaurant when I was 16 (for obvious reasons), and the second was working for a really *****y woman's start up non-profit. The company was supposed to be about "empowering women and girls", but she literally treated all of her female employees like dirt, put us down publicly, and had actual temper tantrums. #irony. So what was your worst job?

I've never had a macaroon, and couldn't even identify those by picture. I would have thought they were colored moon pies. I'm so uncultured:-) enjoy your trip JB!
Qotd: worst job I ever had was working for my universities alumni tele-fund. Calling alumni asking them to support the school with donations. Let me tell ya, there are a lot of people unhappy with their college experience. I worked that job just One day. I hate asking people for money, and I hate hearing people's excuses for why they can't/won't give it. I didn't even tell them I quit-- I just never went back.

I did that as a work study job my Freshman year. I hated the college, so I was not so hot at convincing people that they should be funding it. I think I probably only netted them about $500 over a year of calling.
You're my hero for doing that! I hate getting those calls.

My worst job.....hmmm....
Well, I think the worst job I had was mainly because of the pay. Years ago I worked in a cemetery. It was an older cemetery and the graves had to be dug by hand because the excavator would collapse old graves when driven over. So digging graves was hard work, long hours in the elements. I didn't mind that, but there were moments that it was rough. Frost played a major role. If it was frozen ground it was REALLY a long day, and in the summer, the grave and tombstone wouldn't always line up (200 years of freeze thaw can move things around a little). Imagine digging down where you think it's clear, but it's not.
I would patrol the yard at night on Oct 30 and 31 to chase out vandals and idiots, kids smoking pot and such. It's quite peaceful there at night walking around, looking at the different stones, wondering if they had a hard life, a good life, a tragic end, and so on. Except when I had somebody to chase out. That actually was a bit of fun, usually it involved scaring them quite a bit.
I would leave that job and go to my pizza delivery job at night. I liked that one.
Today's menu:
B and L: protein shake

Total cal minus whatever I find for supper which will likely be 1.5 oz chicken.
460
protein: 80
carbs: 30
all vites etc
walking commute round trip of 150 minutes brisk pace.

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.
Morning!
no surprise what my photo is going to be today! Thanks for all the congrats yesterday. Mama and baby are doing well, and should be going home today.
qotd: my first job when I moved to the "city" was in a call centre. It was phone surveys. I mean, it wasn't terrible because I wasn't asking for money or selling anything, but still. It was phone surveys or booking focus groups.Mostly politics and banking. But it paid more than minimum wage and was really a perfect student job. You could book between 3-11 hour shifts.
Also I was hired once for job which was interesting on paper, but it totally changed once I started, and became an executive assistant role to a director. Hands down the worst. She was so unorganized and needed reminders and constant prodding. I don't have that personality for that. I have zero interest in mothering grown ass people. I lasted about a year. She ended up getting fired a year or so after I left.
menu:
B: protein shake
L: cheese and spicy salami role ups and peppers
D: not sure. Sounds like hubby has plans, so I'm flying solo.
S: cream cheese with cucumber and everything spice!
