What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?

Happy HUMP DAY! Almost there........and for me that means T minus 5 days until I get on the plane to Paris! I did some more packing yesterday and I am feeling pretty ready! I just wish I had a better idea of the weather. Most days are going to be in the mid-60s which, in my experience, can either feel like the 80s or the 40s, depending on the wind and humidity. My solution, of course, is to pack for all seasons...just in case ;)
Wish me luck today--I think there is going to be some work drama. We got the job descriptions for the new positions they created last night and sadly, they did not go for the co-Director position... Darn it. Now I have to go to "battle" against a wonderful co-worker who I adore for the 1 Director position, and hope that it doesn't strain our wonderful friendship. Boo.
FYI, this is an edited screen shot of my email inbox, just to show you all what it is like to work in a school setting. Every other email is about food and treats-- temptation is everywhere! QOTD: Is your workplace a healthy environment or not? For me, the schools themselves are filled with treats, but the office is a healthy environment. We only have just a few people who are little overweight. I am grateful to be there because I have worked at a lot of "fat offices" in the past and it feels more much more motivating to be in a place where people are like-minded about heath.
21 Months Post Op / 117lbs today / trying to lose 5lbs
B: Fit Frappe Mocha & HB Egg
S: Proscutto & Mozz Stick
L: Turkey
S: Steak Medallion & Asparagus
D: TBD
Exercise: nope
Vitamins: Patches (Iron, Multi & D3)
Guess who's going to be an auntie today!? So exciting! I'll post pics when I can!
qotd: it's funny, I didn't expect it to be a healthy (foodwise) environment, but it turns out it is. It's a small office, but there's no junk food, one guy is a low carb guy too, the receptionist I hired is also a dance instructor and health conscious. I even brought in girl guide cookies we bought from the neighbours to get them out of the house, about a month ago. There's still some in the box!
we have peanuts in the shell in the house that I've been snacking on and I'm going to have to ask my husband to hide them today. Not that I can't have a few in the evening and stay on plan, I just recognize the feeling of wanting more, and think it best to nip that one in the bud...save peanuts for ball season!
menu:
B: protein shake
L: mini turkey burgers
D: depends on plans to see the baby. I'm going to duck out of work whenever They are ready for visitors, and my mom and other sister too. So I'll either have them in for dinner, or we will eat out.
S: cucumber and cream cheese with everything bagel spice!
have a good one gang!

Yay for babies! Enjoy!
I just don't get the allure of peanuts in the shell, and sunflowers in the shell. Hubby being a hard core baseball guy is coo coo for sunflowers seeds in the shell. We have multiple flavours and when in the US last year he bought bags of a brand called "David" that you can only get there as apparently they are delicious. It seems like so much work to me, just never got into it. And yes if you feel like this could be a slippery slope for you and you can't control your portions then get it out of the house, smart girl!

leaving for the airport in a few minutes. I'm flying to NC this morning for my father's memorial service (which is Saturday). DH is flying down tomorrow with my sister and her family. I don't know how the food is going to be today - so this is just a guess.
QOTD: our office is mostly healthy. We have a couple of junkfood junkies, but they are far outnumbered by the vegans, vegetarians, and/or health nuts (I can say that because I'm one of them!).
23 months out (maintenance):
B: homemade Greek yogurt, flaxseed, strawberries
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: will be on the road (2-3 hours from the airport to my brother's house), so probably just a protein bar
D: my brother has a standard (musical) gig at a pub on Wed nights, so if we go there, shrimp ****tail or chili. Otherwise, most likely pulled pork with baked beans and coleslaw
