After surgery was there any restrictions in regards to how much weight you can lift? My husband and I have a 6 month old at home so we are trying to figure out if we should both have surgery on the same day or spread it out. It all comes down to if we will be able to take care of our little one after surgery. Thanks!!

I was told by the clinic, 6 weeks and 10 lbs. My surgeon said 6 weeks, 20 lbs limit as I recall. I played it safe and kept it around 15 lbs, splitting the difference.

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

My team said 15 pounds or less for 6 weeks.

I was told 10 pounds for 8 weeks. Almost everyone I've seen says 10 pounds and 6 weeks.

If it were me, I'd split them up.

10 lbs for 8 weeks, especially if they did hernia repair also.
