I'm shrinking away to nothing...
on 5/8/17 3:15 pm
I started at 287 (HW). My goal was 185 (I'm 5'11"). Then it was 179. Now I'm at 169.
The problem is nothing really tastes good. My food falls into 3 categories: I hate it. I tolerate it. I like it OK but not really (very few things in this category). One nurse said I'm at the upper end of "normal" on the BMI scale. I told her I'm in the middle of the "too thin" category when you look at the BMI that takes age and sex in to account.
How do I stop losing weight. I'm done! Tell me how...
I had this happen to me and my surgeon told me to add 500 cals at a time and when the scales stopped moving that was my daily intake. I was weight lifting at the time and was shocked when it leveled out at 2100 cals a day. It was hard for me to eat that much, but it worked and when I backed off my work outs I had to back off the cals. So add 500 cals today and eat that way for a week and see if you are still losing, then add 500 more if you are.
This all being said if your surgeon says to do something else always listen to them first. They know your history I don't. Keep us posted.

Stop making excuses and eat something.
By year three you will wish you did not like to eat.

Ditto on what everyone said....
Try and increase what you can eat. I am weird, I find something I can eat/like and I eat it over and over again until I can't stand it and move on LOL
If you can't eat nothing then suck down those shakes until you can get some weight on and if you have not done so, see your surgeon! Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Honestly if it were me in your position I'd keep doing the same thing to get about 20lbs under where you want to be because of the possible regain a couple of years out. I know there are vets on here that have said you look too thin the 2nd year so that you balance out the third year. Personally I'm 12 lbs from having the generic BMI at the top end of normal and when I get there I'll just keep doing the same thing until I'm 15-20lbs below. I guess we just all have to do what we are comfortable with. But then again, I'm a champ at gaining weight so I have no fear of getting too thin but I believe I have a healthy fear of regain.
